Summary: FANTANBULOUS!
This book is a step-by-step detailed map outlining 'how' to create your own future. Excellent reading! Friends want to borrow it, but I have a hard time letting it out of my sight.
Summary: Your Thoughts Control Your Circumstances
In 1971 I enrolled in my first college class and wrote a paper on this book. My thesis was: If you truly believe, whatever you believe you can do, you can do. My teacher's note stated that the book was based on a false premise. She asked can blind people see and can paralyzed people walk?

Thirty-five years later I read this book again. I now realize that the author was much wiser than my teacher. Those who believed created procedures which have enable some blind people to see and some paralyzed people to walk.

After my second reading of this book I get a more indepth view. Our negative or positive thoughts in our waking hours are implanted in our subconscious mind. The author believed that the subconcious mind is all powerful. The subconscious mind never sleeps and has no sense of right or wrong thinking. While we sleep it records our thoughts, belief's and actons. Negative thoughts are projected on to others who often return the favor. This results in repeated failure, depression, poor attitude, and general unhappiness.

Pushing out negativism and replacing them with optomistic and create positive thoughts make you a new person. People view you differently You have a new powerful magic about you that enables you to achieve whatever you can conceive mentally. The catch is that you have to really believe.

I would recommend this book to everyone and especially to people who are depressed and/or feel like they have no control over their destiny or are in a hopeless situation. They will be surprised that they put themselves in that predicament and can reverse the process.
Summary: Among the absolute best
This is one of the best books I've read so far in my life. An absolute gem. I have purchased lots and lots of books from Amazon (in various fields) and I am usually too lazy to write book reviews. The author has done a marvellous job of explaining his thoughts, findings and research to the world and the least I can do is to recommend others to read this.

Summary: Great Book
This book is phenomenal for getting one to realize that yes, the power is within you; yes, you do have dynamite, TNT, in your pocket. I found it helpful and also read it along with Ask and It is Given, by Esther and Jerry Hicks for the spirituality component of the process. I have seen changes in my life, and positive manifestations of my dreams, too. :)
Summary: TNT---It's EXPLOSIVE!!!!!!!
Having read The Magic of Believing, I quickly became a fan of Claude Bristol so I when I found out he had another book, TNT-The Power Within You I eagerly bought this one and read it straight through.

Bristol tells us that there is nothing new in this book, although it may be new to you. These are the secrets used by Moses, Alexander The Great, Napoleon, Shakespeare, Washington, Lincoln, Ben Franklin, Edison, F.D.Roosevelt, Gandhi and countless others.

I recommend that you read The Magic of Believing first or right along with TNT. It will make more sense. Actually dollars and cents. This mind stuff works. Give it a try.

Use TNT to explode your success.
Summary: Truly a great book
I am 17 years and old and I think I am really lucky to have read it this early in my life. I got the book through my father who wanted to get it because he wanted to re-read it. He told me that he actually read the book some 30 years ago. Anyway, I started reading the book and wow! It really explained me some past things in my life. I realized that I was using unknowingly, but for small things. Anyway, even by reading the book I found myself really more confident than ever.
When I first started reading the book I thought this was not that good a book. the author kept telling that this power is within all of us etc. but as I progressed I found that it was speaking the truth. A lot of people have used this power and still using it to achieve many great things. Why can't I, I asked myself and I am now confident that I will get anything I want through right thinking and hard work.
I want remind those who will read the book to not to read the book but study it, as the author says. I am sure you will be a lot different after reading this book.
A must for everyone, enjoyable and fulfilling book.

Summary: Excellent book, well worth the money!
The Magic of Believing has always been one of my most favorite books and it was so great to find out that it was also available on audio CD. Wow. The concepts are so simple and yet it really works.
Summary: Thoughts are things.
This book proves that what you think comes into being. When people say "the placebo effect" worked, what they are really saying is that if you think it, you make it happen. This book shows you how to do it. It is an exellent book for proving your mind can make things work out for you.
Summary: It works!!
The CD is simple to use, and it works! I have tried a lot of great things, and this is the best. I play it non-stop, and I highly recommend it for gathering one's forces, and rising to one's potential in this earthly realm.

Summary: A Picture Rarely if Ever Seen
As an historical reenactor, and daughter of a WWII Navy veteran, I am constantly on the outlook for books and information on the lesser known ideas and culture surrounding WWII. This book was a real eye opener! While the author is open about his sexuality and the pictures were no doubt hand picked with a certain agenda, they show a world of innocence that was unconcerned with homophobic ideas of how a man should or should not act. Being together for long periods of time in uncertain circumstances, deep friendships definitely form. Your buddy could be the one to save your life during an attack, or you might loose him in a split second from a torpedo. As a woman, I can imagine the close friendships that would form today under similar circumstances among women, and I imagine men during that time were not held back by all the macho ideas of today. A beautiful book with striking photography, this stands as an important contribution to understanding our father's and grandfather's lives during WWII.
Summary: And this is how tender Maleness can be
Without a doubt this book will touch the memories and hearts of everyone who pauses to slowly peruse these casual photographs of men at sea in World War II. Without the overtones of trying to make a statement about the camaraderie that accompanies men off at war, these photographs simply follow a healthy group of sailors resting on board ship, working at their tasks, bonding in the bunk rooms and in play on the decks and the foc'sle. There is an obvious physical relationship that is transmitted in the gentlest ways, further proof that men together find the emotional and physical support so needed in the time of isolation from the world.

It is to Evan Bachner's credit that he shares this truly sensitive body of work with the public at a time when we all need to understand not only the plight of the men away at war today, but of the common threads of pansexuality that have never been a threat but only a solace in a world infected with prejudice. Grady Harp, December 2004

Summary: Sexual identity politics, not WWII history
If you're a naval history reader or someone who enjoys books on the "greatest generation," it's important to point out that this book is fundamentally political in nature, and apparently calculated as a sort of campy joke on the military book-buying public.

The author clearly has a political axe to grind. His biography on the jacket forthrightly states his homosexuality (not that there's anything at all wrong with that). Accordingly, every photo in the book appears to have been selected for its homoerotic suggestiveness: sleek, muscled backs and long strong legs of sailors in unusually close physical proximity, camped out on flight decks, and generally crawling on top of each other. This tacit editorial thrust is fine, except that the publisher and author have cynically packaged the book as WWII history, when in fact it has an altogether different agenda to promote.

For the author and the publisher to present the book as a work of naval history is disingenuous to say the least. This is a work of homosexual soft-pornography, framed with an almost campy Village People "In the Navy" subtext that insults the innocent ingenuousness of the Navy veteran of World War II.

I am no homophobe. In my business, I can't afford to be. I simply feel sorry for the gallant but politically unsophisticated WWII veterans out there who are displaying this book in their collection, unwittingly being used as foils for the author's political message and prurient interest in male beefcake.

Summary: A Glorious Biography! Shows how Muller's faith moved mountains!
This powerful biography gets to the real story behind the legendary sinner-turned-saint, George Muller. This bio is a reader's dream! The author has a masterful way of turning a phrase and more importantly he shows us how and what and who made Muller who he became--a man of God extraordinaire. I was deeply moved by his story. The faith that distinguished his Christianity from mediocre believers of his day was unclouded by sentimentality or mystical notions, it was steeped in Scripture and bathed in the love of Christ. A fiery life that I will refer to when I need an inspirational pick-me up. A wonderful book that truly brings glory to God!
Summary: A life-changing and hopeful view of a true disciple
We can learn much from the true spiritual giants. GM was one of them. Through the Spirit and discipline he succeeded to serve God in spirit and in truth. It's doable!

Summary: THIS IS A MUST READ!
This book was just excellent. Read everything you can get your hands on that's written by Sarah Mason.
Summary: Sexy Detective & Clumsy Lady Reporter
I love this story line. Its a romantic story that any woman can identify with. A stylish and pretty reporter Holly Colshannon who is fond of wearing high heels is assigned to shadow Detective James Sabine who is gorgeous, tall, broad shouldered and endowed with the most intense green eyes.

It is tough to get James Sabine to cooperate with Holly as he dislikes reporters and regards them as pests. James is fuming while Holly in turn is cheerful and gung-ho about keeping her daily dateline to file a column in the newspaper.

The most engaging part of this story is the treatment of growing closeness between Holly & James, not evident to them but to all those surrounding them. Love is elusive here as it only peeps above the surface in very slow moving ripples and is never articulated. Are there faint ripples of love tension that very slowly surfaces from the respect and camaraderie that Holly gradually cultivates with James Sabine to cooperate with her in revealing more about himself and his detective cases when shadowing him?

The impetus in getting to know each other better would be Holly's clumsy accidental encounters which James deftly handles in a gentlemanly and sensitive manner. You can't but help liking both of them as you progress thruout the book.

But, what stands in their way is that both have existing love interests too. Or are they genuine love interests?? Read it..you will definitely want to re-read it again to enjoy this fantastic plot line. In fact, I hope the author would continue like in Sophie Kinsella's Shopaholic series. Perhaps, we can see Holly getting engaged, then married with plenty of hilarious episodes, mystery and intrigue intact in her sequels!!
Summary: Surly Handsome Detective With Kind Heart
I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book as its an easy breezy style of writing. Smooth and elegant prose, many sub-plots & interesting characters to keep you amused. It is comical at times as Holly, the female protagonist is accident prone.

James Sabine, the detective in question, has an icy personality in the eyes of the female protagonist reporter, Holly. However, his cold personality is simply a veneer as he has a heart of gold that is slowly revealed in a subtle but very touching manner thru intricate twists of the plot, love the way the author handles this treatment. Over a period of 6 weeks shadowing him, she gradually sees him as a different person. The 6 week plot is developed slowly for readers to see the subtle differences in attitude between James and Holly and how they interact with one another in light of these changes.

However, there is no overt display of friendliness or love developing between them due to James's cold personality. His personality is in fact a stumbling block to how he should come to terms with his feelings towards his fiancee, Fleur and his sidekick Holly.

I felt that the plot could have been better developed if James could address his true feelings towards the last quarter of the book and not wait till the last minute as it goes contrary to his consistent characteristics, that of, a man of commitment and promises which the readers have seen throughout the entire plot.

If you really liked this book, remember to read "High Society" or its altenative title "Society Girls", as its a continuation of Holly and James as sub-plot and Holly's sister, Clemmie, as major plot. Well, I am hooked so I'm going to get my hands on "High Society"!

Summary: Bristol's Missionary
George Muller is a biography of a missionary to Bristol's orphans. The book starts with George at age 16 getting caught by the police for leaving numerous hotel rooms across the country without paying. It follows on with George as a divinity student at Halle University. There George acts like no other divinity student; he gambles, steals and drinks. He ends up in a Bible Study and after a few days becomes a Christian. George continues on with college all on his own without any help from his father. He watches as God supplies all his need at just the right time. God begins to call George to the mission field. George then becomes a pastor in Teignmoth, there he met and married Mary Groves. George and Mary lead a simple life with very few accessories. God then lead them to do missions work in Bristol. Once George and Mary moved, they started a Breakfast Club in Bristol. For the Breakfast Club they invited everyone in the neighborhood to come to their house for breakfast where Mary feed them and George would lead the devotions. They had the house stuffed in the morning with people even sitting on the floor. Through a five-year-old orphan girl George felt the call to work among the orphans in Bristol, which were of great number. The book follows on with all George and Mary's preparations for finding a spot and opening the orphanage. The orphanage grows into five houses in town, with a waiting list growing every day. But this orphanage was different then any other orphanage in Europe, the orphans that came, came free of charge. Never were the orphans required to pay anything. George would not ask for money from anyone but God. God never failed to provide meals for the children, and at just the right time. The orphanage grew so much that to have so many children in town just didn't work. So the orphanage moved out of town were there was plenty of room for the orphans. The book continues on for the rest of George's life where he continues to do work among the orphans until the day he dies.
Summary: I Could Not Put It Down
If you are wondering where all the miracles of today are, where is God in all of this thing called life? This book quickly answers the question? The answer is --Where are the people of faith? The story of George Muller is such a compelling story. I could not put it down and I keep coming back to it for inspiration.
In a world of all the Christian book fads, this reminds us of an earlier time of a simplicity of faith, faith that will change the world. This book is written well and reads very fast. Children over 12 should not have any trouble reading it and it could be read to children 5 and up. If you are looking for inspiration look no further. I highly recommend this book.
