I am just now planning to have children and am building a children's book collection. This will be a must read for all my children. Summary: One of my childhood favorites, too I am so excited to find this is still in print! I am 33 years old, and I read this book over and over as a child. Weeny Witch felt out of place; she didn't want to do what the rest of her family did. She was not a very good witch. Surprise! She finds out she's a fairy, destined to create beauty in the world. It is a simple but beautifully written and illustrated story that appealed strongly to my desire to find out that I was secretly someone very special. When I gave it to my own children, I was not surprised that the magic of the book was still there...the kids loved it and have read it many times. Summary: Great for Children Who Feel a Little Lonley I'm 32 and remember this book as my absolute favourite. Like another reviewer, I sat down and read it over and over when I was a kid. I really identified with the main character who felt a little out of place with other children, but in the end everything worked out ok. So it would be great for kids, especially little girls, who feel a little lonely. It's a very simlple tale, but works on a very fundamental level as attested to by the fact they myself and another reviewer have remembered this book well into our adulthood. Summary: |
