Summary: Lot of good usage information
I found the book to meet the needs that I had to get a better understanding of some of the more capable functions in Excel. In particular, I was looking for more insight in the use of Pivot Tables which it provided although it stopped short of going sufficiently deep in the use of functions and formulas within Pivot Tables which would have been helpful. I particularly liked that it came with a CD that could be loaded on my laptop great when you don't have the book readily at hand. There were a few editing errors with items refering to the wrong figure or table, but not difficult to figure out which was the right referrence, just a minor annoyance.

Summary: Excellent In-Depth Resource
This book could not be more comprehensive. If you need to go deep and want to have a paper-based book to do it with (versus online help/tutorals), this is the one to have on your desk. A chapter each week will help you me much more productive.

Summary: Buy The Book
The book is very comprehensive and gives a very accurate picture of what to expect on your plumbing exam. It makes learning the code fun and you will find out what you don't know quickly. Use it in conjuction with your code book to look up areas you are weak in. If you can answer eighty percent of the questions in the "Study Guide" correctly you will probably pass your test. It's the best book of its kind. FIVE STARS.

A very good reference book. Summary: Book Explains Details On Renowned Program Dodge, Colker, and Heroman present this updated version of the well-known program that focuses all aspects of the early childhood classroom around the environment, what the child learns, the family, the teacher's role, and developmental theory in its famed interlocking pentagon. Not only does the text explain each segment of the conceptual framework in painstaking detail, but a reference list of both primary and secondary sources sits at the end of each chapter. Please make sure that you get the Creative Curriculum Toolbox (which includes this book) in order to completely implement this curriculum in the classroom. Since play forms the foundation of this curriculum, I doubt a school/community will accept it as valid if they view education from a direct instruction viewpoint. Summary: The most comprehensive book about best ECE practice! Although I already had the Creative Curriculum 3rd edition, I was compelled to buy this newer version, the 4th edition, when I heard there was new information. I was not disappointed. The Creative Curriculum is a guide for early childhood classrooms which addresses the environment and learning centers, as well as the role of the teacher. It is compatible with other known practices in early childhood, including the project approach, Reggio Emilia, and emergent curriculum. The book describes the setup and rationale for learning centers from Blocks to Library to outdoors. There are letters and information for parents, assessment and documentation sections. Summary: A waste of money
Elementary discussion of land development. Lacks detail and interest.
the accompanying "checklists and forms" are not in a format that can be manipulated. Nothing is in Word as the description suggests, all in PDF format. Not useful at all.

Summary: Nothing New Here
Lets face it......if you know anything at all about developing land, the absolute critical item is actually finding a piece of property that makes sense to wast time pursuing. I bought this book hoping to find some insight into ways of "finding" that elusive "good fit" property that maybe I have not thought of. Nothing new here, just some odball potential sources of finding property that just waste your time

Summary: Intro to development that could be half as long
A fairly useful overview that describes the issues a developer has to address, but not much about how to address them. For some reason the author tends to repeat himself. He says something and then restates it. He makes the same point twice.

He also tends to be rather vague: "Some aspects of site supervision can be dealt with in many ways. Some ways are more cost-effective than others." The book is full of statements like this.

I have found the book useful to help me identify issues that I need to think about, but if you are looking for answers--this book isn't for you. It should be titled, "What to Expect as a Land Developer."

While it does give you a lot to review and many hard problems that you won't even find on a real SAT Math test (at least 5 per practice test), it will make taking the test ALOT much easier come test day. The material seems to be geared towards stronger math students more comfortable up to Algebra II w/ trig. But don't be discouraged by the tough problems you'll find in the sample tests. I got a perfect on the actual test even though i couldn't answer every single problem correctly in the tests provided. I say do your best, then take a free online sparknotes test for a better, more realistic measure. Summary: A terrible reflection of the actual test I chose this book because it had a lot of practice tests and I didnt really need the review because I had a strong background in math from school. If you want to practice for the SAT II dont use these tests. THey are much harder than the actual test. I ended up getting an 800 on the SAT but considered not taking the day of because the night before the test I was still getting 550s on the practice tests. Luckily I chose to take my chances anyway but this book only made me nervous and did not help at all. Summary: Good prep, but not the best practice. If you have this book, keep using it for the review only, but not for the tests. I suggest, use 15 Tests of Meylani for the practice. Summary:

Summary: Still the best book on Oracle data warehousing
I have a ton of Oracle DW books and this one is still the gold standard for real world administration of large Oracle data warehouses. The others just plain suck because they lack details or have tons of errors. This along with Bert Scalzo's short DW book for Oracle and the older Oracle 8i Data Warehouse book by Oracle Press written by M. Corey and Abbey are still the best ones on the market.

Summary: Great Practical Book to Using Oracle*i for Data Warehousing
The heart of data warehousing is the database - Oracle, despite the bugs, is one of the most practical databases for large data repositories.

I have designed and installed Oracle data warehouses on Unix (and lately Linux) since the early nineties. The secret to a fulfilling relationship with an Oracle database set-up is knowing which stable Oracle release to use and the suitability with the operating platform.

Essential Oracle 8i Data Warehousing is focused on giving readers an objective understanding of using Oracle for implementing data warehousing repositories.

This book is better suited to technical users, who already have some understanding of Oracle, about to embark on the data warehousing process. This is not a book that is heavy on the side of data warehousing design nor dimensional modeling. There are other books that serve these subject areas well.

Summary: Good Supplement
This is a good general book for preschool setup. It tells how to set up a program and what aspects of the day are important to include for the developmental level of very young children. However, it is not really a curriculum per se, as it does not include lesson plans or even a great many of suggested learning activities. While it contains a lot of important and useful information, it needs to be accompanied by a book which has more detailed activities.

This is the curriculum adopted by our school district for Infant/Toddler Early Intervention programs and Pre K VE.

Summary: Pleasing and Practical!
It is difficult to find a comprehensive curriculum guide for infants and toddlers- but here it is! This book is well-organized and easy-to-read. It begins with basic information on developmental issues specific to infants and toddlers. Then it moves on to practical information on how to create an optimal environment for infants, toddlers, and their families. Information is culturally-sensitive and developmentally appropriate. There are numerous sample forms and program plans that professionals can use as a guide in creating an infant/toddler program. There are also vignettes that allow the reader to see how the information can be applied. I highly recommend this book as a reference for the professional working with this population!
