Avg Cusomer Rating: 5 Reviews: Summary: Freddie Mercury handbook Most complete biography of Freddie Mercury that I've seen. It really takes you inside Freddie's world. After reading it, I almost felt like I knew him. A must have for any Queen fan. Summary: Good Read I enjoyed reading the life of Freddie Mercury on the stage and in his personal life. He was very generous to those who were close to him. Summary: All in All pretty good This is a pretty good book in my opinion. Although it does contain unusual grammar that bothered me some. This book explains a lot about Freddie's behavior off stage, outrageous nights, ect... I must warn those of you who want to learn about his childhood, the start of Queen, previous bands, ect... This book does not contain this content what so ever. If you want to know about this stuff, I advise that you buy the DVD called "Freddie Mercury, The untold story, by those who knew him best" That DVD tells everything starting with birth and ending with death. Only problem is that its hard to find. Anywho, back to this book, it just gives details on tours the band had, FM's lifestyle, his overall characteristics, lovers and what Peter Freestone did as an employee for Queen/Freddie Mercury. It is quite interesting, but also boring in some parts. It necissarily isn't a must have if you want to know all about the beginning of his life to the beginning of queen. I guess it was just fun to read if you want to pass time away. Summary: |

Avg Cusomer Rating: 5 Reviews: Summary: Excellent resource Even though his book could be more organized, I give Dr. Cutler five stars for his content. I have owned the book for over four years and keep referencing it over and over. It outlines a conservative and safe protocol for mercury/heavy metal detoxification. Summary: Essential Information on Mercury Poisoning If you or someone you love has or suspects mercury poisoning, you need this book. Mercury poisoning and amalgam illness are very controversial subjects (at least in the U.S.), and it is often hard to get thorough information on properly diagnosing and treating it. This book is a godsend for those looking for answers. Some have remarked that this book is too technical and hard to understand. I feel Cutler has tried to explain this complex problem as clearly as possible...however, the fact of the matter is if you do have mercury poisoning, you are going to have to become an expert to have any hope of getting better. A smiley "feel good" book on fasting and juicing garlic and cilantro may be easier to read and make you feel more secure, but it's not going to solve real mercury poisoning. Your family doctor will most likely ignore you, and even some alternative practitioners may be somewhat confused as to how to handle treatment, potentially causing more harm than good. Dr Cutler spells out in detail the chelation tests and protocols you need to avoid that make the situation worse. Particularly helpful was the listing of supplements you can use before/during chelation to soften symptoms and side effects. Also essential information on specific details of chelation and testing to gauge how much metal you are excreting (in all cases, my practitioner recommended a different approach, and after I presented the information in the book, the doctor agreed Cutler's method was safer and made more sense). Had I not found this book, I never would have had the courage and ammunition to take charge of my own treatment. If you are in the same place, and need reliable information, buy this book, read it, find the sections that pertain to you, learn it, know it. If there is information you don't understand, go to the library or get on the Internet and figure it out. A good place to start is learning about Amino Acids, how they function in your body, and which ones are linked to your specific symptoms. A great companion on this subject is Michael Lesser's "The Brain Chemistry Plan". I carry a copy of Lesser and Cutler's books in my backpack at all times. Thank you Andrew Cutler. Summary: The only one that works I was almost dead. This works. First energy came back to me for each round of detox. Then allergies lessened, joint aches went away, stomach problems decreased.. Well, poisonoed people can have hundreds of symptoms, I wont count to 100. Read his forum on yahoogroups for more info. Good luck Summary: |
| Evidence of Harm: Mercury in Vaccines and the Autism Epidemic: A Medical Controversy

Avg Cusomer Rating: 5 Reviews: Summary: WELL RESEARCHED REFERENCE BUT ---- IN A NUTSHELL: EXCELLENT REFERENCE BUT NOW HOW ABOUT SOME ACTION Excellent information is provided which seems to point to the preservative in the vaccines, high in mercury, being a cause of autism. IN THE MEANTIME: THE CLOCK IS TICKING FOR THE THOUSANDS OF YOUNG AMERICANS RECENTLY BORN WITH THE AFFLICTION While this book is an enabling tool for a general 'call-to-action', based on the facts, it leaves people, and their families, currently suffering with the effects of autism, rather adrift. A very short window of opportunity exists for people with autism to utilize their brainpower towards their full potential. It is believed that by age 6, direct educational intervention must have already been provided to an autistic child or they will suffer the consequences for life. In other words, let's do something about the mercury in vaccines, but lets not forget that we have a growing number of needy children who absolutely depend on a proper diagnosis followed without delay by active mind stimulating treatment. The real shame is that very little is done for these children as government programs have been slow to recognize and address this epidemic in a timely manner. To make matters worse, very few pediatricians are familiar enough with the disorder to make a firm diagnosis. Without this diagnosis, the child will go untreated and treatment is very time, effort and cash consuming. HOW EXACTLY IS AUTISM TREATED Depending on the age, temperment, and mental capacity of the child, treatment may take the form of a combination of 'Occupational Therapy', 'Speech Therapy', 'Interactive Play', 'Nutritional Supplementation', 'Reinforcement of Routine or Repetitious Activities', 'Specialized Field Trips', 'Music Therapy' and a plethora of regimens designed to walk the autistic child through structured and supervised 'Special Education' by specialists [some of whom are listed above]. At the present, NO good drug therapies exist, and those that do essentially aim at calming down [sedating] a child that may NOT benefit from a sedative. HELP MAY BE AS CLOSE AS YOUR LOCAL SCHOOL DISTRICT: Not surprisingly, your local school district's 'Special Ed Committee' can be a key player in your child's treatment. However, they can not become involved until age 3, which is already rather late for effective treatment, and you will still need to have a medical diagnosis before they can offer services and testing for autism. CAUSE FOR STUDY or GROSS VIOLATION OF A SACRED PUBLIC TRUST? Naturally, without a magic-pill to peddle for autism sufferers, the drug companies are not terribly interested in seeing this matter [mercury] resolved, and appear indifferent to the allegations made by David Kirby, in "Evidence of Harm". The politicians seem content to study the matter for a while and wait and see. It is rather reminiscent of the big tabacco companies and we all know how that controversy is still being played out. The difference however is huge, because THESE CHILDREN HAD NO SAY IN THE MATTER and were DAMAGED severely as a result of a gross violation of a sacred public trust. 1st THINGS 1st: GET A DIAGNOSIS & FIND TREATMENT - CHILDREN CAN'T WAIT TILL THE GROWN-UPS FIND A SMOKING GUN In the end, regardless of fault, all the kings horses and all the kings men could not put humpty dumpty back together again. Therefore, we MUST all do something. Petition congress? Yes, but if you think you have a child affected in this way, find a pediatric specialist who has experience in diagnosing autism in toddlers and take the matter into your own hands without delay. Every minute counts for these children as they have NO time to waste. Summary: An abosolute depressing read. I fail to comprehend how a person(s) can care so little. I picked up this book during a layover, I was unable to put it down. I had heard several years ago about the "supposed" connection between autism and mercury/thimerosal. This book does a superb job of putting together the convoluted string of information out there. It's overwhemling to try and take it all in at once. The book paints a depressing picture of how apathetic people can towards others, how self-serving someone can be...especially when money is involved. It amazes me that these politicians who grand-stand on their soap boxes about saving innocent lives (i.e. the stem cell debate) are the same ones who will turn their backs our children in order to protect their pharma con$tiuent$ from liability. Hyprocites, all of them. The politicians are not the only guilty party involved. The list runs long. I really do no understand how these people can sleep at night. I guess with enough money, you can buy off your own conscience. Summary: Evidence of Harm A must read . Extensively researched. It should be required reading for all members of Congress. Summary: |

Avg Cusomer Rating: 3 Reviews: Summary: Too General The book tries to cover too much with little detail. The information on my 40 HP Outboard did not match the electrical or fuel system. Pay the extra money and get the service manual for your Outboard. Summary: Good manual at a great price This manual doesn't cover everything in finite detail but it is thorough enough that you will be able to figure out the rest. It was good enough for me to replace the water pump and seals in my 175HP Merc Lower unit with no previous experience with boat motors. Summary: Pass on this manual This is a nearly useless manual. It covers too many models and deals mainly with problems common to all covered engines. Not good if your large outboard needs more diagnosis than a 5hp. Look at others - skip this one. Summary: |

Avg Cusomer Rating: 5 Reviews: Summary: must read if MERCURY is on your mind OR in your head!! we slowly are learning more about the hazzards of MERCURY in our bodies. sure, we now stay away from mercury infested fish--but what about the gov. is not talking about ("truth"-not in their vocaulary) is the mercury in our vaccines--NO they are NOT safe. we do not know the individual threshold for mercury to throw us overboard. it could be just one vaccination with thimerosal preservative(mercury) that can injure-and don't give me that bs that we can detox mercury-the levels the gov allows are NOT safe for most-much less an infant who cannot rid all toxins to a full extent yet...and some can't detox the poison at all or only to a small extent--so why risk and put it in your bodies in the first place? the gov will take away a dentists license if one talks about amalgam dangers to health. (ps flouride is not good for you either) now we know for a FACT--yes a fact! that mercury in children causes AUTISM, also causes allergies-food sensitivities, auto immune diseases, ADHD, ADD.the symptoms list is long... My amalgams were half out, replaced with composites. and I have another four to go..thought I read enough--I did not. Decided to see if I missed something, I did..there is a lot of info in this book. I overlooked checking for positive and negative charges in my amalgams, I didn't know about the 7,14,21 day immunity cycle, I didn't know what to look for in my CBC's =which usually come out "normal" for us--check again--Huggins really goes over all this well. I'm going through his book again--AND got his other book "Uninformed Consent" to read before I proceed with the rest of my amalgam replacements. His book is great. please read-even if you are not getting your amalgams removed-Huggins talks about the decay/corrosion dangers- infections, he talks about why having GOLD fillings and amalgams in the mouth are toxic combo. if you do decide to get amalgams replaced--please do it with a dentist that does this only--if call a dental office-ask if they place amalgams in the mouth-and if they do-hang up! you do not want to put your health in their hands-amalgam removal MUST be followed by a safe protocol-call DAMS for more amalgam info in addition to this book. read as much as you can before you stir things up with your amalgams, get them out, the chelate/detox--hundreds of ways to do this..and live a long life-a full one without illness, allergies, memory loss, bad eyesite, ringing in the ears, without ADHD......... --be mercury free--the best to you all! Summary: Dental revision - read about the whole picture This book was essential in my understanding of why I needed to remove all mercury from my mouth. It is the classic. I want to add that Hal Huggins' book on MS is an excellent complement because it is based on newer information Huggins has amassed, and describes the healing process very well. By writing about MS I am concerned that the rest of us who need to understand how to heal from mercury won't buy it. I highly recommend reading both books to fully grasp why and how. Summary: It's All in Your Head: The Link Between Mercury Amalgams and Having read several of Hal Huggins books it strikes me how reader friendly they are. He has a deep understanding of people who are struggling with health problems. Reading and believing what Dr. Huggins wrote in this book led me to recover from 50 years of manifestations of ill health. The journey was not quick, easy or cheap but this book was part of it. Avg Cusomer Rating: 5 Reviews: Summary: Compelling Information about Whole Body Dentistry This was a very informative and well written book about "alternative dentistry". Dr. Breiner explains the differences between traditional and whole body dentistry in easy to understand terms. He gave many examples of the types of health problems which can be related to amalgams, root canals, periodontal work, orthodontics and bridges and partials. He also described the kind of exam and treatment a whole body dentist would use. A great read. Summary: OK coverage, but 1 danger area The discusions of mercury, fluoride etc. are satisfactory, but this book pushes the preposterous Electro-dermal screening. A.k.a Electo-accupuncture According to Voll (EAV): Voll, a German scientist who researched in the 50's, but the research has never been verified or validated. EAV is a used by naturopaths and homeopaths without any scientific backing, that, as a homepathic dentist, I'm aware of. Summary: Update to "Some good, some bad" After reviewing this book again, talking with many dentists from the US and Europe, and doing even more reading. I am downgrading my opinion of this book. I still stand by Dr. Breiner's assertion that "silver/mercury" amalgam is bad for you. Not only is the mercury frequently toxic to many people, but amalgams are not bonded to the tooth like composites or ceramics. This requires the dentist to drill out more tooth structure to make the amalgam hold, thus leaving the tooth even weaker. Additionally, since the amalgam is not bonded, amalgam offers less physical support to the tooth (than bonded materials) and the tiny gap between the amalgam and the tooth can sometimes (but not always) lead to secondary tooth decay. (All of which lead to more tooth problems down the road). The issue on both root canals and fluoride is still up in the air (IMO), but something that we should all pay attention to. From what I've read, topical fluoride is okay, but fluoridated water may not be so great for you. If you require a root canal, ask around about BioCalex as an alternate form of root canal therapy. As for Electro-dermal screening a.k.a Electo-accupuncture According to Voll (EAV): Voll was a German scientist who did his research in the 50's (if I recall correctly). From my understanding, his research has never been verified or validated. I have many German friends who are medical doctors and they have never heard of this device or methodology of testing. As far as I can tell, EAV is a total scam that is frequently used by naturopaths and homeopaths to drain money out of people's wallets. Outside of that, EAV is completely useless. In a nutshell, the chapters about amalgam, fluoride, and root canal issue are a good introduction. IMHO, the rest is either completely false, dubious, or a waste of time/money. Personally, I would skip this book. There are better and more up-to-date sources on the amalgam, fluoride, and root canal issues. Though if you don't know anything about these 3 topics, this book might be a decent primer for you. Summary: |

Publisher: Tor Books |

| ISBN: 0765304120 List Price: $24.95 Amazon Price: $16.47 Usually ships in 24 hours |
Avg Cusomer Rating: 5 Reviews: Summary: Science Fiction That Will Keep You Guessing! Another science fiction novel from prolific writer Ben Bova, this one largely on and around the planet Mercury. Saito Yamagata, who is back among the living after being in cryonic storage and subsequently cured of his former illness, has a dream, and the financing behind him, to build solar power satellites in orbit around Mercury and use their power to propel starships. However, the destruction of the Skytower years earlier on earth complicates things in a very dangerous and detrimental way for Yamagata. Things are not always as they appear to be. The biologist Victor Molina believes he has discovered evidence of past life on Mercury, and Bishop Elliot Danvers has been sent to Mercury by the "New Morality" to oversee their interests. A classic love triangle also complicates everything. As I read this novel I began to realize that I could'nt anticipate the direction of the plot to any great extent, surprises abounded. Just when I thought I knew who the hero and villan was Bova turns everything upside down with new twists. I consider this book a definite page-turner, a very satisfying read of 'hard' science fiction, with an unconventional ending. Summary: Bova's stuck in Purgatory Unlike the character Mance Braknell, IE Alexios Dante, who is stuck on the inferno planet, Bova seems to be writing himself into purgatory. His writing is not so horrid that it should be sent to hell, but it is not deserving of paradise either. I would say that a reader would have to be a Bova fan in order to enjoy at least elements of this novel. I believe that Mance's rage was much too engulfing to seem as realistic since he is still so ridden with hatred years after his sky tower project is sabotaged. People change after years, despite the horrible things that may happen to them. In addition to this, the minister seemed a little too puritanical to be someone who could be fine with the notion of space flight and befriend two very progressive scientists ever so easily. I wished his character was a little more conflicting to give his personality depth. Despite these flaws, I do believe that the ending was perfect. Both Mance and Yamagata got what they deserved to protect the future. Very Shakespearan for a SciFi novel. Summary: Not much new under the sun Ben Bova trots out some very standard sci-fi devices in Mercury. With an appreciated nod to Arthur C. Clarke, we've got a sky-tower. We've got the whole, asteroids/outer planets as penal colonies going. Lots of global warming and climate change mixed in. All-in-all, it's hard to find an original bit in here. Even less original is the overall theme, which isn't even really sci-fi. The Sci-fi elements just serve to prop up a very weak love triangle and revenge plot. The characters are shallow and one-dimensional. We know very little of the female love interest in the story who is worthy of such passion from two men that results in their ludicrous jealous and retaliatory behavior. The Japanese characters are bad stereotypes as is the main religious character and all the behavioral aspects attributed to religion and politics in the book. So, why not a lower rating than 3 stars? Well, despite the overbearing anti-religious preachyness, the book doesn't take itself too seriously. Given that it's part of a series that seems determined to explore every planet, I didn't expect much from it and it basically delivered on that premise. It's also short and faced paced and any time dealing with less than stellar material, I'll upgrade the rating for something that at least gets over fast. Generally, I don't read much series-based fiction any more. This is a good example why. It reads like the author or an assistant cranked this out in a few weeks, it's just another product in the series, not really intended to be high art. Summary: |
