Summary: Heaven sent
This is the best cookbook I've ever had. My husband and I work the night shift, I've spent many hours trying to fix low carb food for us to eat on our break at work and failed many times. I get everything chopped and measured in the morning, then when I get home at night put it in the crock pot and wake up to dinner for that night. The favorite is Italian Chicken, it tastes wonderful and smells great. The Quiches, are a wonderful taste treat. We've tried most of these and we've taken these for dinner, even the cat likes them! This cookbook is the best investment I've ever made.

Summary: Delicious Low carb cookbook
This is a good low carbohydrates cook book with delicious recipes. I learned from this book by doing slow cooking is the best way to stay low carb. I enjoyed the cooking tips given in this book and the recipes which are easy and tasty. I recommend this book to everyone.

Summary: Disappointed Cook
I was very disappointed in this book. When scanning the recipes, I found very few that I could just go to my pantry and make. Many recipes called for ingredients that I never heard of or never purchased in 50 years of cooking.

Summary: Bring New England home
I bought this book after my trip to New England, and I was not disappointed. I love to cook, and I prefer cookbooks written by professionals who know the difference between restaurant cooking and home cooking, know history of cuisine they present, and share personal stories. All of the above I found in the Brooke Dojny's book. I have tried 15 recipes over the past 6 weeks, and all of the results came out terrific and tasting very much like what I ate in Connecticut, Maine, and Massachusetts. I also find the recipes that I have tried to be very easy to follow. Following the recipe for Italian veal piccata, I produced the dish that tastes better than in most Italian restaurants in California and other parts of the States. The recipe for meat loaf is simply the best available! I also appreciate all the forewords and notes for recipes.

Summary: Truly a taste of New England
This book is by far the most stained and used in my collection. Its spine is broken, its pages spotted with grease and cheese, its margins filled with notes.

Soy protein, guar gum, etc. are not staples in most supermarkets. I had to visit a few health food stores and then had to resort to ordering online for some of the ingredients. Plus these items are very expensive. The author also uses lard quite a bit in recipies instead of a healthier substitute. Other then that I liked the down home feeling of the recipies. Summary: Attention Low Carb Lifers Married to Low Fat Lifers This book is a lifesaver for my husband and I. I have to be on a low carb diet for life and my husband has to be on a low fat diet for life - both for medical reasons. Sharon's conversion to low fat at the end of each recipe is wonderful. I've prepared most of the recipes and found them easy and delicious. The recipes also allow you the freedom to do your own experimenting. Nothing boring about this book. I love it and use it all the time. I also lost 20 pounds and have maintained my weight for a year. (A very difficult thing for a person with thyroid disease to do) Summary: Glad I didn't pay for this I received this book the other day as a Christmas gift. Boy am I glad I didn't waste my own hard earned money. I am quite disappointed with the recipes. Granted, I am a picky eater but I cannot find one thing in this book that I might even attempt to make. I don't even know if I can doctor one or two recipes so that it sounds somewhat appetizing. I noticed she uses some less-common ingredients and some, of which, I had never heard. I don't mind if an author suggests an "odd" ingredient, but at least tell me where I might find it. If you are strictly adhering to the Atkins guidelines and phases, most of these recipes are suitable for the lifetime maintenance phase and not much else. Just truly a disappointment. Summary:

Summary: Disappointed with content
Although the recipes in the book look delicious, so many of them have ingredients that are migraine triggers. If you are trying to restrict all suspected triggers as I am, then you don't want to make things with ANY possible triggers in them. There were some good recipes, but there were a lot that I wouldn't use because they had some items considered triggers.
