Summary: Fun, ginger bread, and waltzing!
The Penderwicks is my favorite book in my collection of hundreds of books.
It is a story about the Penderwick sisters, and thier summer vacation in the creamy yellow cottage behind Arundel mansion.
There, Skye bumps into Jeffrey Tifton, and then a marvelous friendship occours.
The Penderwicks is full of humor, and is the right book for anyone.
But just to be safe, I recomend this book from ages 8 and up. Even adults I know like it!
Summary: The best book ever!!!!!
This is my favorite book!! I found out about it when we were going on a vacation, it was a 10 hour drive and I asked my mom if we could go to the bookstore, she said yes. I saw the book read the first page and knew I would like it right away. If you like snappy, funny, and heart warming adventure books then you will like this one. This book is about 4 sisters who go on a vacation and rent a cottage in an estate called Arundel. There is Rosalind the pratical, and oldest Penderwick, Skye the smartest and stubborn one, Jane the writer who writes the "Sabrina Starr" books and often narrates her life aloud, and Batty the shy one who always wears her beloved butterfly wings, and of course Hound Penderwick. They meet a boy named Jefferey on the estate who becomes their companion on each adventure,as well as Cagney the gardener, Churchie who makes the best gingerbread in the country, two rabbits named yaz and carla, and unfortunately Mrs.Tifton and her Boyfriend Dexter. I hope this review helps you READ THIS BOOK!!
Summary: My Favorite Adventure Book
Candy Lane Craze is a really funny story. It was written by a funny author named David E. Spencer. He is one of the funniest authors I ever read. I first read this book online and then I told my mom to buy some books for my family. And then she said I could write some book reviews for other children and kids. I recommend this book to boys and girls that like reading funny stories. It's about Johnny, Sara, and Sabrina and they receive some magical candy from their grandmother, and then they magically disappear from her house when they eat dinner there. They disappear to a strange planet and they find a city called Sweet Little. It's a city where the people love candy and they like to build there houses with cookies and sweet stuff and they like to grow trees that grow candy. The kids meet Gloria and Gloria takes the kids to all the interesting sites around the city and there's candy and sweets everywhere they go. The city has a giant bug problem and the people have to fight the bugs when they search around the city for the candy. That is where the funny stuff happens in the book. This book will make great gifts for kids like me that read silly stories and fantasy stories.

Summary: Send Your Daughters to Europe, by Boat!!!!
I bought this book when I was in high school, and after studying the darling illustrations, and reading the story, I soooo longed to travel abroad, particularly by boat; and to mix with all the European dignitaries, socialites, and "Lah De Dahs" from across the pond. Now it's 30 years later, and having traveled quite extensively with my husband I still have that same longing, yet this time for my own daughters! This book and its charming illustrations make you want to send your daughter(s) or sons to Europe and travel amongst the noblesse. However impossible as that may seem to be, the good news is that today, anyone can take the Queen Mary or any number of magnificent ships (QEII available no longer) across the pond and waltz around Europe.
This is a nostalgic peek back into a time long ago; how the well-to-do traveled, socialized, lolly-gagged about, and spent their time, misbehaving and just having an all around good time. It is based on the true summer travel experience of the Bouvier sisters: Jacqueline Bouvier Kennedy Onassis and her younger sister Lee Bouvier Radziwill. One became a First Lady of the United States, and the other, a Princess by marriage residing in Europe.
I recommend this darling picture book for anyone with a sense of fantacy and longing for high society adventure and travel.

Summary: A Charming Snapshot in History
This was such a delightful discovery, I can almost picture what it would have been like to have discovered the actual scrapbook and travel journal on which this book is based. It is a delightful glimpse into the pre-celebrity lives of the young Bouvier sisters. Not only is this a treat for fans of either Jackie Bouvier Kennedy Onassis, or her sister Lee Bouvier Radziwill, but it is also a wonderful book for people who are fans of vacation memoirs. No matter what your background is, there are laughs to be found in the trials and tribulations of a voyage--for instance, of sharing a ship cabin with a woman in her 90's, who has a penchant for walking around in the buff late at night. The drawings, done by Jackie Bouvier, are charming and funny. One hopes that people still take such sweet records of their vacations.
Summary: I am no Kennedy-phile...
but I enjoyed this book. It is a snapshot of the life of Jackie before the overwhelming fame. Here we see her on vacation with her sister, alternately enjoying shipboard life and dealing with the eccentrics along for the ride. My favorite image? That of Jackie trying to fish an elderly woman's dentures out of the toilet.

Summary: Not a handbook
I would NOT recommend this book to any electrician, engineer, or architect. It is extremely difficult to comprehend. Gaining any practical information from this book is futile. I have had the twelfth edition over ten years. I used it to study for the electricians exam. I hated it then. Since that time, I have found it to be a very poor reference book. The thirteenth edition is no better. I understand why some electrician training schools might use this book - it is very comprehensive. It would make a good reference for a classroom lesson plan, but not a direct teaching tool. If you want to learn the material in this book, get the National Electric Code Handbook (and related materials published by the NFPA) and appropriate textbooks. FYI - I am a licensed electrician and a registered professional engineer.
Summary: A patchwork monster
Another motley McGraw-Hill product. First copyrighted in 1913. The author appears to have died prior to 1976, and the book has been maintained by hired help. Don't try to use this as a textbook; treat it as a reference only. You never really know whether some item is up to date or 50 or 80 years old. Examples: There is a lot of treatment of two-phase (yup, 90 degrees) power, including at 25 hertz, and of multi-kilovolt series incandescent streetlighting, plus knob and tube wiring. Also, it is stated that the highest radio frequency in use is 30 megahertz, whereas in reality we're up to 1,000 or 2,000 times that just now. This book is a curiousity; charming if you have the cash, but if you don't, maybe you should be getting something more coherent.
Summary: A Must For Every Serious or Professional Electrician
W A R N I N G: This book is not for the weekend repairman!!!

This is a very intense book for the professionals or for someone who would like to further their knowledge. This truely might be the last book an electrican will ever buy. A must for your library!

Summary: THE MOST JOURNALIZED BOOK
I THOUGHT OF READING SOMETHING LIKE THIS WHEN I WOULD BE 14 OR 15 YEARS OLD. I SAY THAT BECAUSE I WOULD NEED TO DO IT IN SCHOOL. MY DAD WAS THE ONE TO HELP ME READ WHEN I WAS A TODDLER UNTIL I FINISH THE BOOKS I WANT TO READ IN OUR LIFES. THANKYOU ANN I LOVE ALL YOUR BOOKS AND MUCH OF OTHER AUTHORS. THIS BOOK HAD A LOT OF ROMANCE AND TRAVEL I LIKED. IT TOOK FIVE DAYS TO READ.
Summary: Very good
Even though I found this book to be rather depressing it had a way of drawing me in and keeping me there. I really couldnt put it down. I wanted to find out what happened to each and every girl. The story had a wonderful and I am looking forward to book #3.
Summary: The Best Book You'll Ever Read!
There are not many words to describe this book. Although I love the whole series and am excited for the fourth book to come out in January, this second book has been my most enjoyed. The events are so real and heartwarming, and I felt like I personally knew each and every of the four girls, and the people they are close to. I cried for two hours straight during this book. If you like a hit of reality and emotion, this is the book for you. Although you should also read the first one as well. Do yourself a favor and read this book!

Summary: Great start to an enchanting series
Four young ladies, sitting without dance partners for most of the season decide to take a proactive approach and form a coalition. Taking the derogatory term "Wallflowers" as their name, they outline their purposes and strengths. They shall capture husbands by focusing on one Wallflower at a time.
Annabelle is a beauty with no dowry and fast running out of time to find a rich husband who can provide for her mother and brother.
The only attention she seems to be attracting is from gentlemen who would be only too happy to rescue her financially... as a mistress.
Simon Hunt, her most ardent pursuer is not even nobility but a man of trade, and proud of it. Surely everything and everyone has its price.
This story is thoroughly enchanting. Even knowing that I had to work the next day, I stayed up until 6am to finish this book! This is the first book of a great series.
Summary: An okay read
I thought Annabelle was annoying. She was vain, bratty, snobby, and rude...all qualities a man looks for in a woman. Simon on the other hand qualifies in the category of STALKER. I mean he is constantly leering at her and of course falls in love with all of her aforementioned wonderful qualities. Even when she finally marries him it seems like she is all about the money. I gave this book three stars because I like Lillian throughout this story! At least she breathes life and humor into an otherwise okay read! She was the only reason I picked up the second story!
Summary: This one was a dud.
Normally, I adore Lisa Kleypas novels, but this one was lackluster and ultimately not a satisfying romance. Neither the hero nor the heroine were all that likeable. The heroine seemed like a materialistic snob, and the hero came off as a horny cad. My advice is, skip "Summer" and go straight for the "Autumn" and "Winter" Wallflowers, they were both very good.

Summary: This book was amazing
Of all of the Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants books I'd have to say that this one was my favorite. Its filled with laugh out loud, and touching moments. I finished it, and all I could think was I hope that Ann Brashares writes another one. Everything just seems to fit together perfectly and everyone leaves off to college feeling happy. I totally reccomend it to anyone and everyone
Summary: Not the greatest
I was a bit disappointed by the third installment of the "Sisterhood" series. Usually I can't put the books down because they grab my attention immediately, but that was not the case for this one. Of the four girls, I only found Bridget's story to be truly compelling, even if I did know how it was going to end. Tibby and Carmen's stories were all right, even though Carmen apparently hasn't learned from her past mistakes because she acted the exact same way as she did in books one and two. As a character, she doesn't grow until the very end of this book. As for Lena - who is usually my favourite "Sister" - I found her story to be a complete bore. The descriptions of her portraits did nothing for me.

Though not as good as the first two books, hopefully "Girls in Pants" will make the series complete once the last book is out. It's a must for any fan of the books, but if you're new to the Sisterhood, this book isn't the place to start. Looking forward to "Forever in Blue!"
Summary: Never a dissapointment
This book was fantastic as were the other 2 previous books. Whats great is that each book gets better...it is never a dissapointment which often happens when reading book series. I must admit that this reading is intended for the young reader, but Iam 23 years old and I am truly a die-hard fan of this series....I can't wait for the fourth book to be published and I am hopeful that Ann Brashares will write a novel that brings us up to date with how the girls are doing several years after their college experiences. I do hope that Kostos enters back into the book because the romance between he and Lena is by far my favorite! I would reccomend this to any reader at any age, its not just for highschool and junior high girls....it brings you back to the days when lifes problems were simple and yet seemed so monumental. Bottom Line buy the book!

Erin McCarthy "It's About Time" Trish Jones has just been stood up...again. Why does this keep happening to her? Needing a break she goes to her favorite pub. She has no idea that this trip isn't going to end like they normally do...no, this time she is going to meet Caleb Vancouver and this guy is just what she's looking for but will she be smart enough to keep him or will she let him ride off on his Harley?

Amy Garvey "Wish You Were Here" Mackenzie is a photographer who is set on having a beautiful old building renovated and turned into her new studio. When yummy carpenter Leo Dawson shows up she decides she'd rather have him work on her which is really weird because he is not what she normally looks for in a man. But, what she thinks she wants is not going to be what she gets.

This was a steamy, fast-paced read with wonderful contributions from each of these highly talented authors. If you're looking for titles to add to your "must read" summer list...make sure this one's at the top!

Summary: As usual, This Antho Rocks!
Lucious By Lori Foster
Sexy Lawman Lucius Ryder is attracted to his neighbor sister. He thinks that ignoring the object of his attraction is the way to go. But, Surprise! Fate interferes and soon sparks are flying between Bethany and Lucius. Lori's trademark of a sexy fun romance is accomplished once again in this story.

Its about time By Erin McCarthy
Trish Jones has been stood up again. Determined to have a pity me party, she goes to her favorite bar and meets Caleb Vancouver. He is halfway drunk, not her type, or so she though until she decides to "help" him and takes him to her place. The chemistry between them can't be denied and soon things start to heat up. Erin's sexy romance trademark shines again in this story.

Wish you were here By Amy Garvey
Mackenzie Pruitt is determined to restore the house she inherited from her aunt, for that she need a carpenter! Leo Dawson is just what she needs and more. He is one hot package of sexy male/carpenter. Sparks fly when they are in the same room. This is a sexy, tender story that will have you sighing. My first read for Amy Garvey and will not be the last.

In general this is a steamy romance by great authors that once again prove that love can be found anywhere, even with a bad boy!

Summary: A summer scorcher!
LUSCIOUS by Lori Foster. When Bethany Churchill moves in with her twin sister, Marci, the last thing she expects to find is a man who is interested in her. Not her gorgeous, self-assured, confident sister, but her. SWAT officer/landlord Lucius Ryder, also known as "Luscious" to the all-women tenants in his apartment building, wants Marci for the magic she can work with his newly acquired, badly abused dog. Marci has the gift of "reading" dogs, understanding what is troubling them and what makes them happy. Lucius wants Bethany strictly for himself and once he sets out to seduce her and prove to her how he feels, she is more confused than ever. Once you throw in the eclectic personalities of the women in the apartment building, Bethany's lack of self-esteem, Lucius's abundance of self-confidence and the dangers of his job, you have a well-rounded story with all of the feel-good qualities that Lori Foster is known for.***** IT'S ABOUT TIME by Erin McCarthy. Prosecuting Attorney Trish Jones has been stood up. Again. After waiting for an hour for her date, she makes her way to Ryan's Pub. There she runs into Caleb Vancouver who, with empty beer bottles covering the bar in front of him, appears to be successfully drowning his sorrows. It turns out that his ex-wife is getting married the next day and he's trying not to think about it. Trish eventually gets him sobered up and they enjoy the rest of the evening in pleasant conversation. After last call Trish drives Caleb home, to her home, and they spend an incredible night together, followed by an incredible morning. When Caleb hears Trish make a flip comment about their relationship to her friends, he doesn't understand why his feelings are hurt when he has only known her a scant number of hours. But he's determined to turn those hurt feelings around and convince Trish that there is something unique between them that is worth pursuing. It promises to be fun, especially when Erin McCarthy is the one getting them together.***** WISH YOU WERE HERE by Amy Garvey. Photographer Mackenzie Pruitt is excited to begin renovations to the beach house she has inherited from her deceased aunt. Her top priority is getting the ramshackle backyard shed spruced up to use as a cozy little photo studio. When carpenter Leo Dawson shows up to do the work, Mackenzie is certain that he is the most gorgeous man she has ever seen. These two are steam-worthy from the word go and begin a red-hot relationship almost immediately, but Leo is hiding a secret and there's no way they can have a future together until he is willing to share his past with Mackenzie. Amy Garvey's contribution to this anthology is a wonderfully romantic story that practically sizzles on the pages.***** This book should be required summer reading whether you toss it in your suitcase, read it in the car, or tuck it in your beach bag, you'll be glad you did!

Summary: Ecological Collage

Barbara Kingsolver offers up a very sexy book in Prodigal Summer - but not in the fashion of a bodice ripper or champagne and roses. Instead, she takes the reader on an emotional but intellectual journey to the cool and shaded mountains and valleys of Appalachia and interlocking circles of life. Whether it is moths or people or coyotes or chestnut trees, goats, crops, herbicides or herbivores, birth or death, the tangled webs are essentially linked in this glorious overlay of life. The writing glows, the characters are all wonderfully flawed, and the language is rich and wonderfully ripe. Without blatantly moralizing, the author does encourage the reader to THINK and to look at the world a bit differently. This is a book that leaves an imprint and becomes a part of you forever.
Summary: Kingsolver captures the summer and the Southern Appalachians perfectly
I read this while up in the mountains of Georgia this summer. When the huge oaks and maples that surrounded me in these southern Appalachian mountains were not even tiny seedlings, when the American Chestnut tree blossomed in an glorious snowy display across the land, there was bird that inhabited these parts and regions further south. It had a wingspan of 4 feet , a pale eye, a distinctive call and a large pale beak. It was called familiarly, the Lord Bird, because folks were known to utter "Lord, what a bird!" when they spied it. The Ivory billed woodpecker was an awesome sigh, indeed, I am told. But the advance of humans depleted this marvelous bird's natural habitat, so bird lovers such as myself may never hear the call, and may never be able to see this incredible creature. (I hold out hope the reports of last year that there still may be some Lord Birds in a swamp in Louisiana are true. And I fervently wish that there may be enough of them to reproduce and re-establish the population. But even if this were so, I shall only probably see the Ivory Billed Woodpecker, and the Carolina Parakeet in my dreams and in drawings by Mr Audubon.) But lest you think I am digressing, I am not. I have just finished the last pages of Barbara Kingsolver's Prodigal Summer, set in these same mountains, not too far from where I perch. All I can say is, "Lord, What a Book."

I will admit that the first part of the book took me a little time to find and follow the rhythm. I'm not exactly sure why, but it did. I even almost put it aside, deciding it wasn't for me. But I gave it a few more pages and then i was hooked. Kingsolver interweaves three separate sections and a multitude of stories together in this tale of a mountain, a valley and a summer. The human inhabitants of the stories are fascinating, but it was the natural world, flora and fauna that sucked me right in.

To read this book here was an added treat. Many a page I would read her description of the land, and then look up to see the very scene she had described unfolding before me. I felt as if the book was a gift for me, personally, tucked up in my mountain haven, to immerse myself within. Like a fine wine, a satisfying meal, or a spectacular piece of music that sets your heart soaring.
Summary: I felt like I lost a friend when I finished this book!
This book so moved me that I drove 3 hours to upstate Pennsylvania where I rented a rustic cabin for 3 days by myself to try and capture for myself what Barbara Kingsolver did in "Prodigal Summer". This book has a way of peeking your interest in things you never would have thought could be so interesting. You will enjoy this richly textured novel to the very end.
