I have a 1985 Vanagon, however I found the electrical diagrams lacking. Although, this book covers 1982-1990 Transporters, there was only a single "typical/representative" diagram for all those years. Therefore, I did not have a specific 1985 electrical diagram which I needed. In my opinion this severely limits the usefulness of the electrical section. Since third party Repair manuals for Vanagons are hard to find, I am hopeful that the rest of this book will be more useful. Summary: |

Upon the book's arrival the parcel, which was some standard "bookbox" was open. The book being to big for the box had shifted around and as such had managed to open on end of the box. But being that the book was wrapped in plastic nothing had happened to any pages or other such. Summary: Perfect for evryone with a Corrado I bought it, cause i am doing a G60 to VR6 conversion. Evrything in the book helped me out, espacially with the electric jungle in the engine bay and at the fuse box. Its just perfect, and i would recommend it to evryone that is going to do big repairs to the corrado by itself. It is worth evry dollar. Summary: Just buy it (if you "own" a Corrado!) Anyone who owns this car should own this manual regardless of price (yes, I wish it were cheaper too!)but if you value your Corrado and plan on keeping it for a long time like I am, I suggest buying it. The wiring diagrams are very useful once you understand them. It has already paid for itself for the things that I've needed to repair. As for the G60, well, VW doesn't want inexperienced people messing with that because it is a highly precise item and besides some never repair it right and it ends up giving the G60 a bad name, unless you're one of the lucky few who has connections and can get it done right...research it! Get the manual and read it like a book and be proud to get black finger prints on it... ouch. Summary: |

Avg Cusomer Rating: 3 Reviews: Summary: a pretty good book except for one problem Having owned several of these Haynes Service and Repair Manuals for the various autos I have owned over the years, I expected no great surprises and the same high quality in the amount of technical detail, step-by-step maintenance, assembly, disassembly, repair instructions and workmanship. Now while Haynes has mananged to maintain that same level throughout the years, they have recently done a thing with their "tool" here that really made me angry .... pasted some advertisement SPAM inside the front and back covers right there where there used to be a nice large, sturdy (and reusable) white space where I could conveniently record with pencil (and later erase and re-record) all of my maintenance intervals (item, km / date last changed / maintained, interval, next change) and, inside the back flap the part numbers for expendables like oil and air filters, V-Belts, etc. So NOW I have to include all that on a separate piece of paper that will probably fly out and that I will lose it with all that important information the first time I open the book for a roadside repair on a busy 4 lane highway ... Now this is SUPPOSED to be a Service and Repair Manual and not a billboard!!! or not? And, you know what else? I expect that the sales people I wrote an email to at Haynes will probably reply to my email with this same complaint with the idiotic recommendation to ".... you can use the 'Notes' pages at the ends of each chapter to record this information..." without realizing that the recyclable paper that they now use won't stand up to recording that information, erasing it and re-recording it like I have done for the past 15 years inside the front cover of the Haynes manual for my 1983 Audi ... So it only gets 3 stars instead of 5 And the next thing you know, the spanner wrenches they sell in the hardware store will come equiped with an electronic LCD that scrolls advertisements for McDonalds or Burger King .... really something helpful when you are tightening that nut on your carburator...
