Ahh American royalty exposed -- and by Paris HIlton herself...she proves to be zany and FUNNY....The great granddaughter of Conrad Hilton -- knows how to make fun of herself and offers a tongue in cheek guide ...the beswt chapter is buy her dog. It's a beautiful book -- Pink of course-- cover kinds of glitters-- and the 4 color photos are gorgeous...peek behind the scenes of this jetsetter and see what it's like to be a 20 something -- wow she is still young in the in-crowd of the world...no longer just the Hollywood sphere...you have to travel with Paris to get the full effect.....great book for reading on the plane or for treking to the beach house....or for keeping on your desk to escape for an afternoon break.....hilarious nothingness to zap you out of your serious attitude...yes it's an attitude adjustment-- get a life -- YOU I mean not her-- she has one....and HAVE SOME FUN....stop being so serious! Life is just a party and as Jimmy Buffett says -- it's 5 p.m. cocktail time somwhere...coated stock -- still smells new...amazing what all those 4 color photos must have cost to print...its a MAJOR bargain....as I said great gift book-- classic....not dated at all.

First of all, let's just get this out of the way. Noone actually belives that she actually wrote this book do they? Because her IQ is lower then my BAC, and yes I'm still alive so that's less than one for those of you who don't know. Second I think I read somewhere that they actaully tested her IQ against that of a bar of soap. The scores were equal, but I think I'll withdraw that. I don't want to insult the soap. But in anycase onwards. So... baiscally a spoiled... _17(|-|, decided that she was important enough to have someone ghostwrite a book about her, so she could go about attempting to find... Certain diseases to add to her personal collection. And then published it. Probably without the knowledge to even read it.

I'll buy any travelogue if it's written about Italy. This one did not disappoint. The author buys a Vespa off Ebay and travels through Italy, describing each city or town and its people and food. Never does the author come across as being "uppity" to Italians, but always as a down-to-earth man. Written with humor, it's never over-the-top. It's one of the most enjoyable travelogues I've read. I highly recommend! Summary: La Dolce Vita! I have loved (and ridden) Vespas for over 21 years (longer than I have had a driver's license, and I have loved reading Peter Moore's books for almost 7 years. I never thought I would see the two come together in such a well-written, entertaining way. Peter describes Italy in a way that only a dry, somewhat "off" Aussie could, yet still allows romance to shine through his observations. Likewise, the Vespa serves as a perfect metaphor for the country, yet at the same time is more than just an incidental presence in the story; indeed, the Vespa is observed and remarked upon very frequently, and always tastefully. The only other medium in which the Vespa was so well portrayed was in the film "Night on Earth" (and, again, the same could perhaps be said of the Rome portrayed in the same film, like no other). This is a book great for any occasion and I highly recommend it to anyone with an interest in travel, humour, art, style, taste, and Vespas. Summary:

Summary: Just because...
Just because you don't like Paris Hilton as a person doesn't mean you should under-rate her diary. I am not saying I'm a huge fan... but what you all should be rating here is her diary... NOT HERSELF! So, get a grip and behave yourselves.

I would have to say that this diary is a great outlet for teens to express themselves and feel fantastic about themselves. My only problem was that instead of photos of Paris, it should use the space for pictures of the user's self.

This all being said, I would reccomend it for a teen girl who loves to talk, shop, or just loves Paris Hilton. I would have to say a no to any guys... this wouldn't be the right gift.

Summary: It's isn't a book, it's a diary!
First off, I think Paris Hilton is overrated and overhyped. However, her Confess It All To Me diary is kinda cool. Sure the quotes make me lose brain cells, but you can write in who you are, what you like, pictures, etc. It's a really nice Christmas gift or birthday gift to a teenage girl.

Summary: I don't know why I even have to say this but...
Ok the book was bad enough, but now we have a diary featureing advice from someone who probably thinks that the entire universe literally revolves around her continued existance. Someone whose ego is so big that a black hole would get sucked into it. I could go on but I won't. Is it possible that there are *Gasp* flaws in people! I doubt she would actually realize this. Well actually with her it's more like there are flaws herself, and that everone else is just a walking flaw. I'll admit it, I've got my fair share of flaws. For one I'm overly cynical and sarcastic. For two I have waaaay too much free time. As shown by the fact that I wrote this much about a book with no content.

The newer edition has last chapters that refer to the 250 GTS model. There are a few typo's and printing errors that I did not notice in the earlier book. Overall - this is one of the very few scooter books I have actually paid money to own. [I have interlibrary borrowed many others.] The Italian-to-English translation is puzzling here and there, but the spirit of the work gave me a deeper understanding of the sociological impact of the machine on culture and Piaggio on Italy. Summary: A book worthy of its subject I rarely give 5 stars to a product, but this one is flawless. I bought this book to learn about the various vintages of Vespa so I could make an informed choice when buying one. Given the beauty of this scooter, I wanted a book of similar quality, and I was not disappointed. This book has explained everything about the company and its products together with their long history of excellence in an easy to read, beautifully laid out volume. I now know which Vespa I want: ALL OF THEM! Summary: Great Value, but... I've never written a review for Amazon before, but after buying this book and reading it cover to cover, I felt compelled to air my criticisms somewhere. Overall, I thought that it is one of the best books on the subject. Being a Vespa owner, I was really impressed with the technical content and COLOR photos. It's the essays and figure captions that irritated me. The figure captions were frequently so vague that I couldn't tell which picture they were referring to, which is a problem because they are not co-located with the picture. Also, many of the essays were really hard to understand, frequently too short (when they were interesting) or too long (when they were boring) and presumed a lot of knowledge of Italian 20th century history. So, I failed to get the point of many of them. Believe me, I read these articles very closely trying very hard to get the author's point, but many of them were written in an artsy style, which was almost incomprehensible at times. So, it could be very frustrating to read. I can only conclude that they were translated from Italian and something was lost along the way. All that being said, I still think it is worth the price for the photos and technical articles. Summary:

Summary: Handy book but not great
To be honest I was a little disappointed with this book. It does have some handy information and can help out every now and then, but I really think it is lacking in the details and the "how to" field. I would pick the Haynes manual over this book any day. At least the manual takes it through the process one step at a time. A handy book to have as an addition to your collection of books, but certainly not the main one that I now refer to.

The title is "How to Restore and MAINTAIN Your Vespa Motorscooter" not Modify. although that would be awesome....
This is an excellent book though. :)

Summary: Decent Book but Not a Service Manual
I bought this book to help me service my wife's 1966 Vespa VBC, which is a large-frame 150. The book has a great overview of the Vespa company and the various Vespa models dating back to the 1940s, and a lot of general information that I find helpful. It has very little detail about servicing scooters, and is quite lacking in illustrations.
