Avg Cusomer Rating: 3 Reviews: Summary: Pales in comparison to the other 5. I was excited to get this book, and shelled out the money to buy it. I read a lot of it on the way home from Wal-Mart, and then the rest of it that very same night. That has been a long time ago now. Yes, it has been a while since it has came out. And yes, this review is a little late. So I will make it short. There are many things I liked about H-BP; some of the content was just impossible not to like. But as I read, I noticed that the characters seemed very distant. There was a certain lack of introspection throughout the entire book, which kind of bugged me. It was all 'action' and 'talking' but no 'feeling'. The kissing parts... were dragged out, and lagged the book down, to make it too sappy to ever come close to earning five stars from me. But I am not a huge fan of romance novels, so that is just my personal opinion. Yes, the book introduced a new angle to Harry Potter... and it did have a lot of twists and turns that I am still looking forward to see how they play out in the next book. But overall, The Half-blood Prince wasn't captivating, like the predecessors. Hopefully book seven will be better, and will shed new light on this one. Summary: from a kids point of view- LOVE IT LOVE IT LOVE IT LOVE IT its so awesome. i was out of town when it came out. my cousin and i went at midnight, had a ball. we got the book and driving home we were reading the book with the mirror lights from the car, along with the headlight shadows. We didnt look a page ahead. at all. we didnt look to see how many pages their were. we didnt look at the chapter list. that gives it away. i was at his house for the night, and i was downstairs when my brother and he came down and grabbed my book so my bro could read my copy. i got it back. so anyways the next day all we did was eat and read. eat while reading that is. we didnt stop. it was so GOOD. not the food- the book. we finished it in 11 hours, and we wanted to read it again. the laughter, the tears, everthing!!!!!! a must read!!!!!! although if youre gonna read the seiries out of order DO NOT START WITH THIS ONE Summary: Sheer Drivel I was a Harry Potter fan up to this abomination of literature. It is shallow, boring, and far from thoroughly explained. A complete waste of money. Summary: |

Avg Cusomer Rating: 5 Reviews: Summary: Recommended Being a long time Logic user, i still like to study this book to see which areas of Logic I'm still a novice in. What I like about this book, is the Structure, with the chapters and the Tasks to fulfill. So it get's me closer to a streamlined workflow. Summary: Helpful Logic This book truly helped me get through the basics of Logic Express 7. The tutorials allowed me to get used to the everyday functions as well as some of the more advanced features. I would highly recommend it for anyone getting familiar with Logic. The only drawback is that it does take a fair amount of time to get through the tutorials etc.,but it is worth the time. Summary: OMG!!! After just one lesson you know you're in for a ride. I just got Logic 7.2 and going thru the "getting started with Logic manual that comes with the software didn't really even compare to Apple Pro Training series. Even if you're handy with software and think you can just figure it out, you'd be doing yourself a huge disservice not owning this book. Hands down the best way to learn Logic 7!!! Summary: |

Avg Cusomer Rating: 4 Reviews: Summary: Beginning of a great series A great start to what's going to be one of the all time classic sagas of all time, and that's for EVERY book category in the world. Such a small book for most fantasy epics, and yet one of the greatest ever written. Funny thing is, I always thought what a number of people around the world thought: "Warlock magic is EVIL! Any person who reads it will be worshipers of Satan." Yeah, I stereotyped before I read. Thank a friend of mine who got me hooked on these mystical and absorbing books. I no longer think in the aspects of "SATAN WORSHIPERS!" for this series. It has good and evil pitted against each other as is the eternal struggle in our world. What attracted me the most was the fact that it was about a boy who lost his parents to a maniacal villain and he wants revenge. (Trust me, even though my parents are alive, I know what revenge feels like.) But, better than that, Potter becomes friends with people rejected like him. It is heartwarming when you make friends with people like you. And this is just the beginning. Who knows what young Potter and his friends will face in the future...only Rowling will tell... Summary: A kids point of view i remember when this book first came out. i tried reading it. i was 6. it was to hard. so i read it in third grade. it was WONDERFUL. the quidditch, the dursleys, the magic, the spells, voldemort, the train. it was a whole new world to me. an excellent world. a world that i would live in forever. It was so good. Then came the movie. I was in the audience opening day. then i read the second. enhancing. the the third. then i started going to the midnight things when the books first came out- as i got caought up. it was sooooooo good. Summary: A fun book, even for older readers Id heard of this series for a long time, never thinking Id ever read it since it was intended mainly for younger readers. Well, Im glad a friend gave me a copy thinking I might enjoy it. I definitely did. While this isnt my usual reading material, it reminded me a lot of a series I enjoyed as a child by Piers Anthony. Those books also revolved around a land ruled by magic. In the Potter series the land is replaced by a school, Hogwarts, but it's otherwise similar in style. Rawlings did a wonderful job of describing the terrible living conditions Harry had while living with his aunt and uncle and the thrill he experienced while first exploring his new life at Hogwarts. While it was fun reading this, people older than 14 might find some of it a little childish but, hey, the target for this series were children in the first place. Approach it in the right spirit and you'll have as much fun as I did. Summary: |

It coantains 5 actual tests and 1 extra test that coantain a sealed questtions and ansewr sheet the same way on the paper based test. Excellent for Paper based but only Good for the Computer Based test. Though this prep kit dont give any further explanation on Eng so u should have a good knowledge of english before using this guide, since it only help you know what to expect on the test. Summary: Very reflective of the real test This book is the best of its kind. The questions are extremely similar to the ones one will see during the actual test. Summary: Give a Glimpse of the Actual Test Being published by ETS, this book will give you a look of what the actual test looks like. This workbook comes with 5 (five) practice tests, all with reviews and explanations. I use all the practice tests, before I work with the ETS PowerPrep. Combined with PowerPrep, this workbook should give us some predictions of our actual score might end up. Although, this workbook is packed with practice test, it doesn't have thorough explanations on how to attack specific questions. So, you have to buy other books as a companion. I use Barron's as well as Cliffs, to be my companion. Summary: |

Avg Cusomer Rating: 5 Reviews: Summary: Jordan and Jon's voice will be echoing in your head The Examkrackers series is absolutely wonderful, and I think the Audio Osmosis really helps to reinforce concepts. It should be utilised as a supplement to TPR, Kaplan or EK books. Summary: extra help for mcat prep This seems like a good way to review. I have taken the mcat once (w/o audio osmosis) and am studying to take it again. So far, I've listened to the discs once through, and I think that being able to hear concepts while at work or on the train to/from work will help cement them in addition to reading, reviewing, and taking practice tests. DO NOT think you'll ace the mcat w/o practice tests, but it's an amusing set of discs with some good sound effects, asides, and mnemonics to help commit concepts to memory. I'm pretty confident it should help. Summary: Secretroute Book Review ; It Rocks The reviewer named "Book Reviewer" Listed below is fake. Avg Cusomer Rating: 5 Reviews: Summary: Great book for understanding people I learned a lot from this book, and it's one of the few that taught me more about learning about what matters to other people, and how to be a better person in dealing with others. Anyone who is involved with people in any part of life will get great answers and understanding in this book. Summary: On "How to Win Friends and Influence People" This reviewer is fond of sayings, because many are succinctly comprehensive, though their positive suggestions may be slight riddles, e.g.:"Spit enough on a stone and it becomes wet". Two of my favourites are "Nothing is more permanent than change" and the serious businessman's compliment "There is room for improvement". Intoning this latter saying in its various ways may open the mind vastly. Thus, Late in life, but not too late, I recently met the 1981 revision of "How to Win Friends & Influence People" by Dale Carnegie. I was suspicious of it for its title, which was too brash and brisk for me. I would have called it "Why be friendly?", which may lack appeal to those most obviously -- at least to outsiders -- in need. As the book proves, we all 'lead with deed' despite words. Words may set good examples, only if we bother to live up to them. Being fallible humans and not (nauseatingly) infallible gods, we will fail perfection but may still improve our own besides others' lives immeasurably by taking this book to heart. It is a golden mine for ALL. The revision seems sensible and sensitive. Yet another revision may perhaps be well justified for today's social climate, but to humans of good will it still is a wonderful book. Actually, I feel the book merits another version for a broader readership, for its healthy spirit to realize its full (i.e. gigantic) potential. Summary: Read it again and again I got this book in high school and have read it quite a number of times. It is great for picking up the little things that improve getting along in any social situation. On top of which, the style in which they are suggested is not your bland self-help 7 habits of highly successful whoevers nor your over-the-top shocking ways. Merely simple suggestions, examples, and reasons for why they would work. I can't recommend this book enough to pretty much anyone. Summary: |

Avg Cusomer Rating: 4 Reviews: Summary: Great! But could have done with some editing... This is the book where we get to see Harry actually begin to mature past being just a young little lad. We get to see inside the mind of Harry more than ever... and get to feel what he feels in the situations that he is forced into. Parts of it are really angsty. But in my opinion, it never gets to the point of being annoying. Some people complain about it, but I say that it is necessary, in order to continue showing that Harry is changing with each book, and is going through new things that alter his personality. In this book, we get described to us what the Ministry of Magic is like, and Harry makes two visits there; both times are exciting to read about, and I could scarcely put the book down. A new character worth remembering is a well-liked one among fans. Luna Lovegood. Whether you love her, or love to hate her, she is definitely a character that keeps the story interesting when it threatens to lag. My only real complaint, is that this book could have used some editing. It is a little too long, and a little too drawn out. There are probably a couple of chapters that could be left out altogether, for that matter. Join Harry, Ron, and Hermione, on their greatest journey to date. This book is worth the money. Summary: Great sequel! This book is better than #4! I loved the fact that Harry is finally becoming quite the jerky and typical teenager to not just his enemies but also to his friends. This is a normal fact of life, and it's finally happening to the famous Harry Potter. There is also the fact that he found his father not to be the "saint" that he thought he was (besides sneaking out of school). If Harry's parents were perfect, that would be quite boring. Thanks, Rowling. The plot of the story was the only thing that was the problem. It was too...uneventful, although there were good sequences of events before the final showdown in the book. It had a great ending that left me wanting to read that sixth book right then. Summary: fab for a long trip We listened to the first part of the book on a long trip. We loved the voices and it really came alive for us (even though we had all read the book). Because it is so long, we have several discs left to listen to. It is a two night a week ritual to listen as a family for an hour. I highly recommend this audio book. Summary: |
| The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People

| ISBN: 188321937X List Price: $29.95 Amazon Price: $18.87 Usually ships in 24 hours |
Avg Cusomer Rating: 5 Reviews: Summary: Exceptional, Life-changing and a Must have! I found the book incredibly useful in EVERY aspect of my life! It gives you tools (lists, diagrams, and organizer inserts) which are so useful and helpful in order to live a highly effective and rewarding life based on the strength of correct and time tested principles. Stephen Covey provides very personal examples of his effective growth change as well. I like authors who do what they preach! I am confident that other readers who follow Covey's advice will find their lives to be far more organized and satisfying. This exceptional book outlines the major ways to be able to accomplish more and feel much better about yourself as a result. Additional bestseller that wowed me is scientist Ritz' "Scientfically guaranteed male multi-orgasms and ultimate sex". I dare say that these 2 books will dramatically change your life for better. That's why I highly recommend them. Summary: What the heck is he trying to say? All that Stephen says in this book can be said in 2 pages (as opposed to 360). I am apprehensive of authors who see their writing as a cathartic exercise. The book is supposed to be about effective habit. The church has nothing to do with it (unless only church going people can aim to pick up these habits). Its annoying to see Stephen mention church and god every so often. The book is a total let down as far as I am concerned. Stephen and everyone else should read "How to get ideas" and "Ideaship" by Jack Foster to understand what engaging writing is all about. I guess when authors don't have a lot to say they hide behind buzz words hoping readers won't get it. I am amazed at how people got bought in by his empty talk.Do they even understand what he is taking about? P.S - His charts and diagrams make no sense. I am an engineer and i reads to charts and graphs everyday. Summary: Here are the 7 habits quick and easy: 1. Be proactive:If you want something to happen, figure out how, then make it happen. 2. Begin with the end in mind:The best way to predict the future is to create it. 3. Make decisions and act in accordance with them: Your current actions should always be taking you where you have decided to go. 4. Correct interaction: The best way to get what you want is to help others get what they want, always create a win/win situation for both of you. 5. Listen to understand using efffective communication: Always hear what others are saying, do not jump to your own conclusions. 6. Create synnergy, the whole is greater than the sum of its parts: In a group of people use everyone's strengths to form a strong team. 7. Amplify your greatest asset, yourself: Everyday you must work to improve yourself physically, emotionally, mentally, and socially through study, exercise, training, and experience. I read this book 16 years ago for work and the principles have stuck with me. The win/win principle alone has made me a successful manager.I would add this book to your success library. Summary: |
