Summary: Interesting Insights
There is a lot of truth to the Cube, the game has existed a long time. My son and I frequently discuss the cubes of others we have done, the game shows off all kinds of personality trends, and has never proved false.

If there were a little more detail on how to analyse to cube's answers, it might be nice, but it's kinda cool how so much is left up to you, after the basics.

Besides giving insight, it's very often funny to cube someone, especially if you know them pretty well.

Cool for cats.

Summary: Really lets you decide what it means...
I loved The Cube not only because it helped me understand myself a bit more, but because it pushed me to take an active part in interpreting the results. Though lots of aids and examples are given to help you make sense of your results, you really are encouraged to decide what they mean to you.

This helped my husband and I think a lot about where we are in our marriage and in relation to each other. It's a wonderful book and I look forward to cubing my friends and coworkers! :)

Summary: It was pretty great!
I wouldn't say it was horrible, it was rather great! The book consists of many games that reveal interesting things. I read one review saying that you'll only enjoy it once. Well this isn't true, because you can always try it on your friends and family. It's just more fun! When I first heard about this book through a friend I was so thrilled because the game/test thing she gave to me later came out to be really true!!!!

This game is so much fun! You learn things about people that you never knew... heck, you learn things maybe *they* didn't even know. My friend introduced me to it and ever since then, I've "Cubed" everyone I know. It's lots of fun to do with new friends as well.

When you finish this book, you will discover additional questions about yourself and others.. but besides the questions you will have answers ,on the why you or your friends or significant other acts the way they do. very thoughtful is this book. besides once you have been cube'd you can cube others!

Summary: A Great Addition to Your Reference Library - for ANY Reader
I have read and collected quite a library of psychology and esoterical books on many subjects and approaches involving personal/spiritual development and exploration. This book is one of the few that I've encountered that is extremely accurate, no matter who you use it with. It contains great insight, in a straight-forward way, into yourself, life and relationships. It is very thorough in it's approach, yet still leaves room for personal interpretation - a must in my own book. For though another may help guide us, we ourselves always contain the true keys. And this book even contains references and examples of others who have played the game, including named celebrities, and impressions of interpretations from others. Very helpful for referencing the games you will encounter yourself after reading this book.

Every person I've ever used this book with has absolutely loved the game and has found it immeasurably helpful. We've even had disucssion groups and all-night philosophical pursuits after playing the game. It's hard to tire of it. And it still leaves room for continued exploration into the world of visualization, personal reflection and development; an ancient art - that is yet still very alive and meaningful.

I have seen this book listed and recommended even by spiritualists, though it is marketed as a psychology book and has also been listed on recommended lists from a more scientific approach.

I personally recommend this book for anyone. Rare would be the personality who would not enjoy this book, as the game and its exploration is so intriguing. I first purchased this book on a whim, not entirely knowing what it was about - and have NEVER ever regretted it.

Summary: Why bother fixing typos?
I was thinking of buying this book, but when I read that it is riddled with typos, I declined. Perhaps publishers will get the message that not doing proper editing results in lost sales.

Summary: Riddled with errors, but ---
I have never seen so many typos, omissions, and errors in a published book. Many of the examples are poorly introduced, theorems are mentioned that don't exist in the book, etc. Other than Rubik's cube, most of the other puzzles are presented in a completely incomprehensible manner. It's very annoying, in a book that's otherwise just what I want. It does give a good quick and dirty intro to the group theory needed, however.

Summary: In depth group theory via games and puzzles
I am old enough to remember the original appearance of the Rubik's cube puzzle. I examined it a few times while in a store, but never put any effort into it. Later, I looked at some of the literature that explained how "easy" it was to solve the puzzle. The solution involves the use of some advanced topics in group theory, so it is a puzzle with a mathematical twist. However, that is not the only application of group theory, there are many ways in which it can be used. Joyner shows us many of them, and provides the foundation before he tackles the problems.
This is an excellent book that can be used to either refresh your understanding of group theory or teach it to advanced undergraduates. The objects being manipulated are easy to understand, sometimes easy to build or acquire and the explanations are easy to follow. They are also different from those found in the standard group theory text. Puzzles are an area that fascinates many people, so it is often an advantage to present mathematical instruction in the form of a puzzle rather than in the standard sequence of background notation, theorem and then proof.
Finally, the author is to be commended for donating all of the profits from the book to the Earth Island Institute. It is a non-profit organization dedicated to environmental projects throughout the world. Therefore, not only can a purchase of this book do your mathematical skills some good, it can also improve the quality of life for everyone on the planet.

Summary: Best cube method there is.
If you want to be able to impress people by being able to finish a cube, buy this book. You'll easily learn how to conquer the cube in less than 5 minutes every time. My average is about three and a half minutes, and i only do it to impress people. If you learn more of the moves, you actually can finish it in 45 seconds, it's not just a sales pitch, it's possible. This book will teach you how to complete a cube, however, it won't tell you the reasoning. Basically it's a system of moves that work extremely well. I would suggest this book to anyone, especially advanced cubers. You will be able to do the cube faster this way than almost any other way. The author holds/held the world record at less than 20 seconds.

Summary: It Actually Works!
This is the first Rubics Cube book that I actually understood easily! Well written and some what simple to follow.
