Avg Cusomer Rating: 5 Reviews: Summary: Taste of Home Entertaining picked the perfect Chef to work with, this is wonderful! Mario Batali entertains us all on Food TV with his incredible knowledge of Italian Cuisine and now we can make these dishes ourselves. I use this when hosting parties because of the vast array of appetizers available. They are easy to make and you can find the products in most grocery stores. Maybe even the Boar! Summary: Great Recipes - If you can find boar It's a beautiful looking book, with several recipes that look very tasty, but it requires some ingredients that you certainly cannot find at your neighbourhood grocery store. Furthermore, although I am admittedly far from a professional chef, I do not think the recipes are all that easy to make, even if you can find the ingredients. But if you live in Soho, NYC and have access to specialty stores & are a pro in the kitchen, you probably find these recipes great & simple. Summary: Another winner from the American Italian cooking master If you love to cook and eat Italian food this is the book for you! To put this review into perspective for you, it is written by a serious student of cooking that has been actively studying food on their own for 25 years. I have been focusing on Italian food for the last 10 years. My favorite cookbook is "The Professional Chef" by the Culinary Institute of America. Each trip my husband and I take to Italy we find new dishes to love that we want to recreate at home. With Mario's book you can bring your vacation home to your own kitchen. His directions are extremely easy to follow, dare I say they appear to be foolproof. My husband loves to look at the glossy pictures in the book and pick out dinner. If you like to see pictures of the finished dishes this book has plenty of pictures to satisfy that desire. I use this cookbook on a weekly basis and have been pleased with every recipe that I have tried. Mario's recipe for Osso Buco (page 363) is worth the price of the book alone. My husband loves the Chocolate Hazelnut fritters (page 477). I believe that there is something for everyone in this book. If you are looking to expand your Italian cookbook library, take a look at the "Harry's Bar Cookbook". It is written by the owner of the famous bar in Venice, and is a fabulous addition to any cookbook library for those that love authentic Italian food. You cannot go wrong with this book if you love serious Italian food. This is one of the most used books in my cookbook collection. Even with 500 cookbooks to choose from I frequently find myself reaching for this book. Unlike other cookbooks, this one obviously had all its recipes tested many times. I have made more than 50% of the recipes in this book and everyone has turned out well. Kudos to Mario for a fantastic effort and an exceptional end result. Summary: |

I give you 2 thumbs up! Summary: Encyclopedia of Counseling: Master Review and Tutorial for the National Counselor Examination and State Exams This book is great! All of the questions that are outlined in this book were extremely beneficial when studying for the exam. I believe it is a must have before sitting for the test. Summary: Outsdanding guide for NCE exam I used this book to prepare for the NCE exam required for licensure as an LPC. The book format is clear, efficient, and of high quality. If you've performed well throughout your graduate studies, this book will serve as the ideal refresher to remind you of key points and serve give you the "bare bones" of what you need to know pertaining to areas unfamiliar to you. I had access to a much more expensive guide published by the authors of the NCE and found it to be cumbersome and utterly useless compared to this book. I recommend it to anyone and have done so for many peers over the last three years. Summary: |

Avg Cusomer Rating: 5 Reviews: Summary: great certification tool!!! great certification tool!!! but u will need also transcenders for exam preparation. contact me on my gmail account (certstuff). i will send u a list of transcenders i can sell u, 10$ each one. thnks Summary: Great book to prep for exam and use after I went through the Microsoft class 2272 and read this book before taking the XP exam . The book does a great job covering topics which are not adequately discussed in the class (RIS, RIPrep, Sysprep, Overview of Active Directory and server side issues which MUST be considered when troubleshooting XP issues among others). I passed with a nice margin and the book continues to be a great reference tool. The CD included with the book is great as well, it contained two additional MS Press books (Ency. of Networking, and Ency. of Security, plus a Measure Up test). The Measure Up test is worth the price alone since it presents questions in a format which is VERY close to the actual MS test. Some typos throughout but overall very good. Summary: Passed exam first time with 905, using this book..... This book was my primary reference to pass this exam. I have used XP Pro since 2002 and am fairly familiar with it. I picked up this book based on a number of reviews I read here. I agree with one reviewer who mentioned IIS was barely mentioned, he is correct on that score. WebDAV was never mentioned either. The MeasureUP test prep software was pretty good. I found a good percentage of the questions from the software on the exam. Good luck on the exam! Moose Summary: |

Avg Cusomer Rating: 4 Reviews: Summary: Easy Read, but NOT a One Stop Shop. This book is overall a good book. Easy read. However, it can give you a false sense of security that you know enough when you don't because many topics are not covered with enough depth. Also the coverage for many processes is inclomplete. Some inputs, some outputs, or some tools and techniques are missing all over the map. Bottom line: It's a useful book, but do not count on it alone. Summary: This is what a PMP Prep Book Should Be! After studying Rita Mulcahy's "PMP Exam Prep" book for months, I found myself so frustrated and confused that I started looking for other material. I went online and found the positive reviews of Andy Crowe's "The PMP Exam: How to Pass on Your First Try" and bought the book, and I am SO glad I did! What took months to understand reading the overly-complex RMC book became crystal clear when I read Crowe's book. Crowe organizes his material well, and at the beginning of each chapter he conveniently defines the material's difficulty, memorization level and importance on the exam in terms of "High, Medium or Low". Each page has a tab on the edge that identifies what process you are in, so if you find yourself deep in concentration and suddenly wondering, "Hey am I reading about Quality Assurance or Quality Control?" there's a large indicator right in front of you to help. On a purely mechanical level, Crowe went out of his way to make sure this book was organized to help you study. I really appreciated that. The material itself is excellent. As some have pointed out, it is a little slim in some areas, but the book's purpose is to help you pass the exam and in this regard, Crowe admits that he glosses over some items that tend to appear less than others. I recommend you read this book and refer back to the PMBOK and one additional study guide whenever you are confused or need additional detail. I did find that PTA (Point of Total Assumption) was covered here, where it wasn't covered in the other material I used. I didn't find any major shortcomings in the coverage of the book. I have read criticisms of the book's grammar and spelling. I did find a few (under 5) spelling errors, but I honestly appreciated the "big print" type and simplistic words. The material covered on the PMP Exam is pretty complex and tough. And too many PMP education providers seem to think they have to mimic that complexity and difficulty to teach the material. It was incredibly refreshing to find a book that actually went out of its way to make the material simple. The book was also an easy and fast read, unlike all of the other materials I found. I read the first half of the book (up through the end of the "Time" chapter) in one day, and the second half in another day. I then went through the book with a highlighter and re-read it, in 2 days time again, highlighting all the key points. During each of these passes, I took the questions at the end of each chapter. Finally I skimmed the material several times, only glossing over the highlighted points. Doing this I could flip through the entire book in a day. I did that twice. Finally, two days before the exam I took the entire 200 question test at the end of the book, scoring 90%. The only suggestion I have to improve this book would be to make the exam questions more difficult, so that they more closely mimic the tough, brutal questions I encountered on the PMP exam. The free material at the Velociteach website was great. I signed up for the online site two weeks prior to sitting for the exam. The online quizzes were good, but limited. The real benefit for me was the classroom slides which presented the material very well. Even though it was mostly a rehash of what was found in the book, it was slightly different material, presented very well, using repetitive images and phrases that really helped key concepts stick in my head. (After going online, I easily memorized word for word the definition of a "Baseline" as they always referred back to the same images and the same words on certain key points. I found this GREAT for learning!) I took the PMP Exam a few days ago and passed fairly well, thanks completely to Andy Crowe's book. Crowe explains early on in the book how much weight each process group carries on the exam. Calculating my scores in each process group (Initiation, Planning, Executing, M+C, Closing and Professional Responsibility) x the weight each group carries on the exam, I arrived at an estimate of 75% for my score on the overall exam, passing is approximately 61%. My weakest area was in Initiating by the way, which surprised me. Note that I took the final exam in the book shortly before the exam and scored 90%. I would recommend that you get to an 85% or 95% level on this particular book's questions prior to taking the exam. I am very pleased with my score on the exam and with this book and Velociteach in general. This is my PMP preparation book of choice and I highly recommend it to anyone who is studying for their PMP credential. Summary: Thanks Andy This book is a valuable guide to PMBOK. I Passed after reading it along with the PMBOK. The PMBOK is of course the bible of PMP exam, but this book is extremely pleasing to read, concise, and geared to highlight important concepts from an exam view, and also relate to the overall highlevel "architecture" of the processes. The only thing to be aware is that, in certain areas, I felt topics were inadequately covered, and that is where the PMBOK comes in. Summary: |

Avg Cusomer Rating: 5 Reviews: Summary: A wealth of insights and tips on how to construct - and maintain - a natural garden pool NATURAL SWIMMING POOLS: INSPIRATION FOR HARMONY WITH NATURE offers a wealth of insights and tips on how to construct - and maintain - a natural garden pool. Surprisingly they are less costly to maintain than traditional chemical pools, save on water, and beautify a garden area more than less ecological offerings. Full-page color photos throughout illustrate such pools, surveying a range of designs and options and discussing biological conditioning, ecology, regeneration zones, and construction choice alike. It's the multitude of options and in-depth coverage on these options, paired with the color photo coverage, which makes NATURAL SWIMMING POOLS an extraordinary survey. Diane C. Donovan California Bookwatch Summary: Long overdue book on an overdue topic I have been keenly interested in the topic of natural swimming pools for about 5 years, but have been frustrated by the lack of information in English on the topic (there are several books in German - the homeland of the concept - but only a single manual in English). Mr. Littlewood's book added substantially to my knowledge, gleaned from various websites, a handful of articles and research into conventional swimming pools, ponds and lake management. But the book's value lies not so much in the (limited) technical information it provides as it does in thoroughly introducing the concept and presenting it beautifully. Mr. Littlewood is a distinguished landscape architect, and his book presents natural pools, in hundreds of beautiful pictures, in the context of landscaping. But he doesn't focus solely on the aesthtic aspect. You'll also learn why these pools work so well without chemicals and concrete, making them environmentally friendly and a pleasure on the skin and eyes when you swim in them, and why they require less maintenance than conventional pools. It's possible that some hard-headed American readers will be put off here and there by the author's environmental leaning and not-always-critical stance to the theory and practice of the natural swimming pool's Austrian and German pioneers, most of whom now offer patented systems that they are primarily interested in marketing. But these are minor quibbles. The fact is, natural swimming pools are practical and make sense, and their pros (water quality, aesthetics, ecology, reduced maintenance, winter aesthetics/use) far outweigh their cons (greater risk of contracting water-borne illness, greater space requirements). Some 5000 have been built in Europe, including dozens (it might be up to hundreds) of public pools that satsify stringent German health requirements. I think anyone interested in ecological or simply innovative or beautiful landscaping would enjoy this book. But if you're interested in building a pond (especially for swimming) or a swimming pool (especially with alternative water sanitation), this book is an absolute must-have. The author of this review is an American ex-pat who has lived in central Europe 14 years. Summary: A visual and informative masterpiece! I have been interested in the idea of natural swimming pools or swimming ponds for years, but I found information almost impossible to obtain. Until now. Littlewood's book is the best resource out there, hands down. Anyone interested in creating such a paradise in there own backyard will find this book invaluable. This is a 200+ page coffee table style book with hundreds of amazing photos. Friends not even interested in building their own love sitting down just to browse. Summary: |

Avg Cusomer Rating: 5 Reviews: Summary: Excellent for first time buyers My wife and I got this book at the Wells Fargo event. True that Bach is now taking money from them and that probably biases things a bit, but generally speaking we found this book to be tremendously helpful in explaining the home buying process. It explains in easy to understand terms the steps needed and the options available. It does mention options that won't be right for everyone, but I thought it also touched on the down sides of these options as well. Overall this book answered a lot of our questions and we are now happy homeowners in part because of it. Diane C. Donovan, Editor California Bookwatch Summary: Great Simple Concept This book was a breakthrough for me. I currently own two properties but never saw the connection between equity and becoming rich. I am immediately taking the advice offered by the book. I should become rich sooner than later. The premise of the book is really a no brainer and should be common sense. But, the info I gathered help to remove my blinders. I am on my way!! Summary: |

Carefully takes you through the work, explaining in very clear simple, yet meticulous way to understand materials presented. A must read for ALL test takers. Summary: It is not helpful to prepare the Toefl test. I bought this book. It shows only outline. It is really guide book. I bought other book and compared. If you, who are using english as a second language, want to take the test, I'll recomend that you'll have to buy other books. Summary: Good written tips, bad practice CD This book was my only source to practice before taking Toefel IBT. I will say the real test is 95% similar with what was presented in the book. I got good scores but reading was terrible because I did not have enough timing practice. If you want to have an idea of how the test is going to be, you should read the whole book. But if you want to practice, use another source and time yourself as much as possible. Good luck! Summary: |

Just the first few pages of the book educated me on what is going on with my Mother and how to handle and cope with her disease. It is a MUST READ!!! Too many books just give individual's stories. This book helps you understand their behavior, how to deal with it and how to... I can't say enough good things about this book. Thank you, Thank you, Nancy Mace, you did us a great favor in writing this book. P.S. Don't skip any chapters. I skipped the one "What Happens When Something Happens To The Caregiver" --needless to say, I fell and fractured my knee and was out of commission for awhile...had to go back and read that chapter.
