I was disappointed with this last book for a number of reasons.

First, I found Gregory to be without direction, as the other Bridgerton brothers (i.e., Anthony-Viscount; Benedict-Painter; Colin-Writer). Gregory just didn't seem to "do" anything.

Second, I was frustrated that Violet, and the other Bridgerton siblings did not appear very often in the story. They were quite prevalent in most of the other books (not, however, When He Was Wicked, which I also found lacking), and I felt that they were only mentioned to remind us that Gregory comes from a large family.

Third, the heroine was not believable. I understand that the true love interest is supposed to be beautiful beyond compare, especially in the eyes of our hero, however, I felt she was just the "runner up" with a great personality.

Lastly, has anyone noticed how many times a word is emphasized in italics per page? I counted no less than three to four per page throughout the story. It becomes very annoying when trying to read a descriptive piece and everything seems so "over the top".

Julia, I look forward to your next book, however, let's shorten the series and PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE leave the italics alone!

Summary: A fun summer read!
This book was an absolute delight! I had a great time reading it. The characters were alot of fun. Julia has done it again-she knows exactly how to spin a great tale. It is definitely a great summer read. Another fun summer read is The North Kingdom by Jordan N. Danniels. It will keep you turning the pages and wishing that Lord Killian would step out of the book and have an adventure on some remote island with you. Pick up both books and have fun this summer reading.

I have always been a fan of Julia Quinn, but after reading her last two books and finding them a bit lackluster, I was thrilled to read and love On the Way to the Wedding. It was greatly entertaining!

The storyline was clear yet engaging, and the hero and heroine were fun and endearing. I really didn't care for Gregory in previous novels, but after this book, he's at the top of my list (right after Colin :). And Lucy is a great female lead (smart and funny, yet not annoyingly impulsive or completely inappropriate). Their relationship develops very naturally, and there are no loopy twists (like her falling into a well or something) that brings them together. I don't mean that it's boring (there are plenty of other twists for that) but it's not completely outrageously unbelievable.

So to wrap up, it was a great read, and warmed your heart. Definitely recommend!

I used this book as a gift for my grandaughter & her husband's first anniversary gift. They loved it. She is into scrapbooking & will certainly embellish it a little more throughout the years with more pictures. Being the first anniversary is paper, I thought this was very appropriate.

This book, like many others of its kind, is hard to put down. With that said, about 3/4 of the way through the story I was wondering what was going to happen, because the plot had sort of slowed down. The ending is amazing, and even though it's tough to believe that a marriage that has been falling apart for 20 years can be saved in one week, Sparks writes the one week so well that it seems as if any husband could magically turn into Prince Charming once again. Summary: Yeah, right! First of all, men like this don't exist, which is probably why I thought of it as so sickening. Next, to the review. Wilson and Jane are a middle-aged couple having some marital troubles. He forgets their anniversary, so the next year, he plans some freakishly odd gift where he leaves notes and little presents around the house all leading up to them meeting at her parents old house for a dinner date. Then we have to read through a page and a half of them having sex in what was once Jane's parents' room. Am I crazy, or do we all feel sick when we read something like, "Down to the floor went her new dress and my jacket." (Yup, I thought so.) So, unless you like reading about what goes on in a 40 year old bedroom (yes, everyone does it, and I enjoy reading romances, but Sparks makes all of his sex scenes graphic.) This is all I shall leave you with my friends. Take it or leave it! Summary: A husbands Journey to save his marriage I was so pleased with this novel. I was very anxious to read it, after I had read the Notebook. I absolutely adored the character Wilson. He was so determined to convey his ardent love for his wife in the most exquisite way I have ever read on paper. The story revolves around Jane and Wilson's daughter, who Jane thinks is rushing into a marriage with a boy that she has been living with. Throughout the novel Wilson endeavors to become a better husband by cooking elaborate dinners and attempting to lose weight. The novel also includes Janes affable father, Noah, who aches the loss of late wife, Allie. This novel will not dissapoint Spark fans...it delivers a strong message that marriage is sacred and should never be taken for granted. Summary:

Summary: Just what I needed . . .
The book was very helpful in beginning to plan my wedding. It is in workbook format so you can be sure that everything is covered. What I found extremely helpful was a list of questions in each section to ask about your ceremony site, reception hall, wedding dress consultant, florist, DJ, band, photographer, etc. etc. The book covers the fine details that may be overlooked when overwhelmed with wedding planning. I highly recommend.

I am a bride and a videographer in the North Jersey/New York areas and I purchased this guide for my own wedding. I found it useful however it wasn't as practical as a few other guides. It's a great book to get started.

Summary: Incredibly comprehensive, perfectly organized and valuable
There are several comments that most of the content of the book can be found at the author's site. I see no reason to be unthankful and take advantage of the "free" information and disregard the book. It is very convenient to have all details handy because it's a kind of crazy thing to plan, organize and participate in a successful and memorable wedding. So I recommend to use both of them for best results.

This book walks you through the entire process step-by-step and provides numerous glossaries, worksheets, tips and ideas that I haven't found in a similar book. I can honestly say that it is one of the most helpful that we bought. Let's face it no book can contain EVERYTHING so I applaud the author for covering almost everything usually in details. Thanks to it I was not clueless and believe me every bit of peace of mind is more than welcomed. I liked that the book helps you to stay focused and positive that everything will be fine and as perfect as possible.

Allow me in addition to this book to share with you also about A. Ritz' bestseller "Scientifically guaranteed multiple orgasms and ultimate sex". I was blessed to get it as a gift from my best friend and thanks to it we had a mind blowing first wedding night, honeymoon and I am very confident that we will be happily married for the years to come because a very sexually satisfied wife may not think easily about a divorce. So if you want to do something in order to do not become part of the otherwise dark statistics in the future, get it as well.

I recently read this novel after hearing about it for years and missing the movie starring Halle Berry. I was pleased with the story, and I can see why Oprah Winfrey adopted it into a television movie. It is a heartwarming story about a time in our history that has not been forgotten. When I first started reading the Wedding, I was a little bit worried that this book would be too hard for me. Their was a lot of big vocbulary. It was very challenging at times, but trust me don't be discouraged. When you finally get to the end of the book you will feel amazing. You will feel like you just made the biggest accomplishment. The Wedding has many different generations, and a lot of different characters. There is always a new event going. You won't stop reading from page one because you will want to know ho it ends up. So read the book, give it a shot.

Summary: Heart Warming Tale- Color Relationships
The Wedding by Dorothy West was quite interesting. In the beginning I didn't really get the idea of the story. The setting seemed to be in the past and the present, switching back and forth. It also had many characters that I wasn't able to comprehend. There seemed to be many different plots, and not just one main one. I really like the idea how Dorothy West spindled the characters all together. I like how everyone was tied together at the end - all related to ancestry. The story is really on a nice track about racism and romance. I really like how the marriages turned out to be peaceful at the end. The book wasn't really about a wedding, but about the past relationships. I recommend this book to people who can sit through a long, heart- warming story. You may need to use weird vocabulary but you'll get through it! It's great how West partly includes you in her stories. Totally recommend it to ages 13 and up!

I am going to return this book and get my money back from the authors. Hey, they offer in writing in the book.

Your best source of what you want is from you. Your best source of information is from recent brides. Know what you want first and then figure out how to make it happen. New brides are more than happy to give advice and tips. Another plus is that new brides still remember how important it is for you to have your own individual wedding. New brides will give recommendations and let you talk out what you want, and then they will get the heck out of your way.

If you are recently engaged then you have probably already started to hear many people tell you how should do things, what they would have done, and their expectations of your big day - all with varying levels of intensity. This book is more of that.

If you really are short of available recent brides to talk to then go ahead and read the book. Keep a saltshaker handy because a few grains are required to digest their advice. These poor authors who are so unpopular with the wedding industry, woe is them. How much do you want to trust a book that so whole-heartedly promoted one gown store and bashed another when their pet store is filing bankruptcy?

Yes, it is true. This book's pet bridal gown store, Discount Bridal Service (DBS), is going out of business, filing bankruptcy, and leaving thousands of brides without dresses. Their least favorite store, David's Bridal, is still in business and still providing dresses to us brides. (Plus you can try on dresses that fit and bring your camera!)

PS - A true source of information are event coordinators of any type. I got great information from hotel Sales Managers and various churches. Even though I was just getting information about room blocks or just inquiring about the wedding ceremony the Sales Managers and church Wedding Coordinators/Alter Guilds had great advice and could give me five recommendations each for photographers, florists, and bakers. This gave me a great start on looking for those kind of vendors.

Summary: I second the notion--this book is no BARGAIN.
If you are getting married, do yourself a favor.. ignore all information in this book unless you want a couple of wed-in-Vegas journalists to plan your most sacred day.

Summary: This book has no style.
As a new bride, I thought this book was --well--let's say---BORING!. No style..no design and these authors are "lost" as far as what brides want in the 21st century. If you are young, hip and cool, this book is not for you. If you are old on a 4th marriage, you might like it. Also-warning ..these authors have TERRIBLE reviews on their Baby Bargains book. It seems they write all their own great reviews. I think Martha Stewart weddings is OBVIOUSLY much better and I also think I would not recommend a book from Denise and Alan Field's EVER.
